Thumbs up to General Hospital for addressing racial Issues! Kudos to Brook Kerr (Portia) and Vernee Watson-Johnson (Stella). Read more here--->>
If you missed General Hospital today, then you missed an amazing and outstanding performance by Brook Kerr (Portia Robinson) and Venree Watson-Johnson (Stella Henry) as the show brought awareness to a real-life issue, racism.
In the episode, Portia encouraged Stella to stay away from the courtroom as it may be too stressful for her. Portia broke down as she admitted to Stella that she hates Esme (Avery Kristen Pohl) for what she did to her daughter and her struggle to keep it in. Portia is of the opinion, that Esme targeted Trina (Tabyana Ali) partially because she was sure Trina would have a hard time facing the justice system - in other words, because of her color. Portia felt like she failed Trina, not preparing her enough for this hateful world. She mentioned that she feels like Trina grew up too sheltered and wasn't taught the realities of this cruel world. Stella was on point with her encouragement for Portia.
Brook Kerr and Vernee Watson surely delivered in this episode. We give GH a big thumbs up for addressing the racial issues of this world and this storyline. Kudos to Watson-Johnson and Kerr!
