Days of Our Lives, “Days” debuted on NBC on November 8, 1965. The serialized daytime soap opera was created by husband and wife, Ted and Betty Corday. Days, set in the fictional town of Salem, is known for its rich history, generational storytelling rooted in the show’s core families, handsome leading men, beautiful heroines, the super-est of super couples, and some of the most entertaining over-the-top, OMG did they really do that, storylines seen ever in daytime or anywhere else for that matter.





Days is celebrating its fifty-seventh anniversary and we want to honor the iconic show by highlighting some of the families, characters, and couples that have made Days the show we all know and love.





***Disclaimer there is no way we can list everyone worthy of being listed. The show has been on the air for 57 years and counting. So, unfortunately, some worthy names aren’t listed for the sake of us not still being here typing for another 57 years. LOL. However, we believe everyone will be able to find at least a few of their favs among the lists and that the lists give a true representation of the greatness that is Days of Our Lives.***





Families





One of the most incredible things about a soap, especially one with the longevity that Days enjoys, is that the families in the soap become a part of our families. We can celebrate their births, weddings, and all of the wonderful triumphs and joys of life. And then of course there is the other side, where we mourn deaths (although nobody is ever truly dead in Salem) and break-ups/divorces of our favorite couples, and shed a few tears as the citizens of Salem, our family members, endure the tragedies life, unfortunately, bestows on us all.



But that’s life in all of its potluck beauty. We all experience a little bit of everything and we have shared it all with these wonderful families that have graced our screens over the last several decades; like the Blacks, Bradys, Carvers, Deveraux, DiMeras, Grants, Kiriakis, Hernandez, Hortons, Johnsons, Roberts, and Williams families.





Leading Ladies





Oh, how we love beautiful, savvy, smart, strong, successful leading ladies! Salem has given them to us over the years in spades. Salem’s ladies rock!



There is absolutely no way to list them all. Just bear with us as we try and get in as many as we can; Marlena Evans Black, Caroline Brady, Hope Williams Brady, Sami Brady, Jennifer Horton Deveraux, Abigail Deveraux DiMera, Kristen DiMera, Lani Price Grant, Gabi Hernandez, Alice Horton, Kayla Brady Johnson, Kate Roberts, Ciara Brady Weston, Nicole Walker, and Julie Olson Williams.





Leading Men





Salem’s cup runneth over with handsome leading men! Trying to come up with a good representative list was even harder than the ladies. The men of Salem got it going on!





We did our best to narrow them down and keep the list at fifteen names apiece, equal to the ladies. So, sorry again for any omissions in advance: Brady Black, John Black, Bo Brady, Eric Brady, Abe Carver, EJ DiMera, Stefano DiMera, Eli Grant, Mickey Horton, Tom Horton, Will Horton, Steve Johnson, Victor Kiriakis, Ben Weston, and Doug Williams.







Couples





We all know what a good couple/ship can mean to a soap…everything! Days of our Lives has/had some of the very best! We wrung our hands trying to create this list.
