Performer of the Week
Legendary! Just legendary is what we call Deidre Hall and Drake Hogestyn for their performances this week on Days of Our Lives as Marlena Evans Black and John Black. A fantastic collection of performances were broadcast as Marlena, the last of the three women fought for her life. Marlena's condition deteriorated during the course of the week, and her family worried and hoped for the best. She made one request, and John, with the aid of Johnny (Carson Boatman) and Chanel (Raven Bowens), put together a unique surprise for her. By the time the Friday episode of the Peacock drama ended, viewers were a complete emotional wreck. As time was running out, John stayed close to his beloved Doc while Hall and Hogestyn crushed our hearts in true veteran fashion. The script was excellent, deserving of an Emmy and the acting by these two long-time stars was stellar. Well done to the entire Days cast and crew! Congratulations to Drake and Deidre on being chosen as the performers of the week.
Cynthia Watros
Like the true champ that she is, Cynthia Watros delivered a masterclass set of performances this week as the truth of her being Willow's birth mother came to light. Watros brought Nina's anguish and her pain across so well. When Nina cried, we cried! Well done, Cynthia.
Heather Tom
Tom was nothing short of superb this week as Katie faced Bill and Sheila. Tom could be offscreen for days, weeks, or months and come in for one episode and she'd kill it. Tom is so good. It's no wonder she's won so many Daytime Emmys. Well done, Heather.
Days of Our Lives
It was an emotional week in Salem. Belle came back to Salem to be by her mother's side as her condition worsened. Steve took matters into his own hand and cornered Kristen DiMera. He secretly recorded a confession from her and took it to Rafe. By the end of the week, Kristen was arrested and taken into custody despite her plan to run away with Rachel. Li and Stefan exchanged a couple punches and some harsh words. Chloe Sarah considered giving Xander another chance but changed her mind once she got to Xander's place and saw Gwen in his shirt. Will learned some damning information and delivered the same to Sonny who threw Leo out. Joey and Tripp returned to Salem after the passing of their mother. Johnny and Chanel help John put together a nice surprise for Marlena.
General Hospital
Port Charles also hosted some outstanding performances this week. Nina finally learned from Carly that she is Willow's mother. Spencer sought advice from Diane as he was determined to lawyer up to get custody of Esme's baby and then he brought his idea to Ava to team up with her. Heather finally got close to her daughter but didn't reveal their biological connection. Portia and Curtis prepared for their Valentine's wedding asking Marshall to be a special part of it. Michael unleashed his anger on Carly for what she did. Liz and Finn spent time with Violet who asked an important question.
The Bold and the Beautiful
News of Sheila's freedom spread like wildfire. Li was stunned to learn of Sheila's release and was determined to testify against her since Finn and Steffy couldn't. Liam, Wyatt and Hope learned that Bill and Sheila were romantically involved. The Spencer boys went to confront their father who was adamant that he loves Sheila. Katie also confronted Bill and he chose Sheila Carter. Brooke finally learned that her ex was in a deep relationship with Sheila.
The Young and the Restless
Victoria and Chelsea put aside their differences for dinner with their sons. Lily and Jill made Devon an offer that he needed some time to think about. Diane and Jack set up Jeremy who was arrested for their crime. He lashed out at Diane and promised that she hasn't seen the last of him. Well, Diane and Jack had so much to celebrate that they took it to the sheets. Nikki was finally looped in on Stark being arrested. Chance had a gut feeling that something was off. Mariah and Tessa came back to town and shared their baby news with Sharon and Abby. Sally finally told Nick that she is pregnant. Victor hires Kyle to oust Adam from Jabot. Summer and Kyle argued about their mothers.
Honorary Mentions
Congrats to Martha Madison (Belle), Zach Tinker (Sonny), Robert Gossett (Marshall), Laura Wright (Carly), Maurice Benard (Sonny) and Don Diamont (Bill) for getting the honorary mentions this week. They all were outstanding in their different scenes this week. Tinker showcased Sonny's anger and utter disappointment so well, Madison delivered an emotional scene as she spent some time with her mother, Wright and Benard in their scene as Sonny lashed out at Carly delivered a superb performance and Diamont despite not saying much as Bill Spencer was fantastic in his scenes.
