Stephen A. Smith, sports television personality, sports radio host, sports journalist, executive producer, and actor, who is known in the soap world as “Brick” on the ABC soap opera, General Hospital, recently released Straight Shooter: A Memoir of Second Chances and First Takes.
The memoir is described as a very personal book that not only discusses Smith’s trademark of never shying away from sharing his uninhibited opinions but also candidly unveils the personal and professional challenges he has experienced along his journey and also gives some insight into who Smith really is when there are no cameras around.
Smith debuted on General Hospital in a cameo appearance as a television reporter on February 2, 2007. He returned to the sudser as Brick, a surveillance expert for the mob in April 2016, and continues to make appearances.
Of course, when Smith and his larger-than-life personality aren’t visiting the fictional world of Port Charles, he can be seen as the lead sports commentator on First Take. He is an NBA analyst on Sports Center and NBA Countdown as well as other NBA broadcasts on ESPN. He also hosts Stephen A’s World, an unfiltered take on all the day's biggest sports stories.
