The Young and the Restless Recap for January 18, 2023: Stark Lashes Out At Diane

Today on The Young and the Restless, Phyllis calls Tucker’s bluff, Jill does damage control with Lily and Devon, and Jack and Diane take a big risk.

At Crimson Lights, Diane updates Jack on Stark. She checks with him to make sure that everything is in place with their plan. He encourages her to trust the process and the Genoa City police department and wait and see. Stark comes out of the shower looking for Diane. He realizes that she's gone. He takes up the necklace and there is a knock at the door. He puts the necklace in his robe pocket and opens the door to find Chance standing there. 

Stark asks Chance what he's doing there. Chance presents a search warrant. Stark asks him for some time to change as he is still in his robe. Lily visits Devon and tells him that they have to discuss reversing the merger with Jill immediately unless he changed his mind. He notes that he hasn't changed his mind. Summer checks on Kyle. She apologizes for earlier. 

Kyle, according to Summer, is sensitive toward Diane because he is concerned for her. She also believes that their mothers are endangering their marriage. Kyle observes the significant variation in their mothers. Tucker asks Phyllis what is upsetting her. Phyllis believes Diane is using Jack while she is making out with Stark all over town. Jill questions Devon about what the heck is wrong with him during their phone contact. She queries whether he is aware of the harm that will be done to both businesses once he regains control of his own. He claims he is prepared to suffer that PR blow. Lily emphasizes how significant this decision might be. Chance looks through Stark's bedroom. Stark asks what he is looking for and offers to assist.

Phyllis opens up to Tucker and tells him about her recent chat with Daniel. Tucker wants to know what it's going to take to let go of her feelings for Diane. Devon notes the reasons for his decision. While conducting his search, Chance stumbles upon something under the mattress. He advises Stark to step away from the door. Stark declares he has no idea how that document got there. Chance updates Stark about the footage of a man breaking into the Newman apartment in Chicago. Chance queries if Stark owns a black windbreaker. Kyle calls Jack for an update. 

Chance reveals to Stark that the housekeeper call noting that a very valuable necklace was stolen. Stark says it wasn't him. Chance notes that the housekeeper also found a pair of men's reading glasses by the safe. The police ran prints on those and found a match in the federal database and it's Stark who tells Chance that he is being set up. Summer begs Kyle not to get involved with what Diane and Jack are up to. Phyllis is reluctant to give Tucker information about Daniel's project. Devon says he doesn't feel safe and that he needs to protect his company. Stark says either Jack or Diane or both is setting him up because he never went to Chicago. Stark lashes out at Chance and declares that they are done. He opens the door and finds Jack and Diane standing there. 

Tucker notes that he has no intentions to interfere with Daniel's aspirations. He says he would love to have a sit-down and talk with Daniel but Phyllis wouldn't allow it and she leaves. Diane and Jack step into the suite and Diane declares that Stark told her he was going to Chicago. Chance finds the black windbreaker in Stark's drawer.  Chance asks what Jack and Diane are doing there. Diane says since Stark has been in town he has been harassing and stalking her. As an argument breaks out, Chance holds Stark off and then finds the necklace hidden in his jacket. Stark says to Diane, "If I'm going down, I'm taking you with me." He then tells Chance that Diane was the one who brought the necklace to him. Jill and Lily agree. Lily says they all should take time to think before making a decision. 

Diane declares Jack as her alibi and he confirms. Stark lashes out at Diane and Chance takes him for a walk. Stark before leaving tells Diane that she hasn't seen the last of him. Kyle gets a text from Jack with an update on Stark but Summer is still worried. At Society, Devon orders a drink as Tucker walks up to him. Tucker pays for the drink and Devon leaves. 

Devon returns home, where Lily tells him that she and Jill made a decision. Summer reminds Kyle of his mother's past. As Kyle and Summer argue, Diane and Jack celebrate their victory with a kiss.
