In today's recap of The Young and the Restless for February 24, 2023, Nate’s plan to reconnect with his family backfires, Daniel makes a difficult decision, and Diane receives a cryptic message.
Jeremy Stark confronts Chance at Crimson Lights. Stark brings up the fact that Abby is now Chance's ex-wife. Chance informs Stark that his personal life is none of his business. Chance warns him that if he's back to start up any trouble it would be a very bad idea.
In the Grand Phoenix lobby, when Daniel enters, he overhears Lucy and Heather conversing. He approaches and enquires about their meeting with Christine and Paul. Heather remarks that it was enjoyable but that now that vacation is done, it's back to work and school. To make a call, Heather moves away. When Lucy notices that her father is sporting the bracelet she gave him, she is overjoyed. He encourages her to come back for another visit and he wants them to stay in touch. Heather watches Daniel as he embraces his daughter. They need to leave since the car will arrive in a moment, she says as she approaches. Heather and Lucy leave to make their way out of town. Phyllis enters and observes her son by himself. She tells him that she saw Heather and Lucy on their way to the airport. Daniel lashes out at his mother for her interference and storms out. In comes Jeremy saying that he feels for her being attacked from all sides. Jeremy then makes her a very tempting offer.
Nate and Elena are at home. He informs her that he is headed back to the office but he has to make a stop first because he asked Lily to meet with him at Society. He shares that it's about Devon. Elena suggests since Devon lives right across the hall, why not go across there and talk to him. But, Nate notes that he senses a major showdown looming between his cousins. Nate believes he could be responsible so he thinks he should talk to Lily and see if there is anything he can do to help. Elena tries to talk Nate out of it but he is certain that he must do what he is led to.
Abby joins Devon and suggests that they go grab a bite to eat. He is reluctant because he has so much to do. But Abby encourages him to take a break because he is pushing himself too hard. Devon says he needs to complete his task first and then he can worry about repairing his relationship with Lily.
Diane tells Jack about the package she received. She is worried that Jeremy will retaliate. Chance visits them and informs them that he had a run-in with Jeremy. He warns them that he will be watching Stark as well as them. Jack notes that they are not the ones that he needs to be worried about. Diane opens the package despite Chance's warning. In it is a mystery novel. Chance encourages them to turn things over to the police and not handle things on their own. Jack suggests that he and Diane take a romantic secret trip out of town.
Abby and Elena run into each other. They decide to take a moment to talk. Abby informs Elena about the lawsuit between Devon and Lily.
Nate meets with Lily at Society. She asks him about his new job at Newman Media and he shares that all is going well. Nate asks about her but she's not up for the small talk. He cuts right to the chase and notes that he heard a rumor and also saw Christine leaving Devon's apartment. He knows something is up and he wants to help. Lily tells him that it is none of his business. He is no longer any family to her and he should stay out of it. Devon walks in and Lily accuses Nate of orchestrating it but he shares that he didn't. Devon and Lily start bickering and Nate steps in. Lily storms out.
Daniel meets Lily in the park. She says she doesn't really feel like talking right now. He shares the sentiment and still wants to sit with her. She changes her mind and tells him she really does need someone to talk to right now. She asks, "Why is family so hard?"
