Y&R Recap for February 9, 2023: Jack Confronts His Lying Son

In today's recap of The Young and the Restless for February 9, 2023, Victor reveals his plans for Adam as he stands his ground; Summer loses patience with Diane; Victoria makes a confession.



Kyle assumes that Jack's happiness is because of his mother although Kyle warns his father to be careful. Kyle leaves for work and heads to Jabot. After Kyle heads out the door, a text comes in and Jack realizes that Kyle left his phone behind. Jack tries to get his attention but he was already gone. When Jack looks at the phone it's a text from Victor saying, "Thanks for your help with the Adam matter." Connor is getting ready to go to school. His parents ensure that he has everything. Adam notices that Chelsea has been in a really good mood and Connor says she has been laughing at her own bad jokes ever since she got back from her dinner date with Billy. Connor exits and Adam asks Chelsea about her date with Billy. At Crimson Lights, Victoria is happy to see Billy. She talks with him about his breakup with Lily. 

Victoria notes to Billy that she was jealous of his relationship with Lily. Talk turns to her bad troubles with Ashland. Talk also turns to Chelsea and she tells him that he needs to be aware of what a relationship with Chelsea would mean to his family. Chelsea wonders why everyone keeps saying that she and Billy were on a date when it wasn't like that. Adam predicts that Billy will eventually let Chelsea down but she stops him in his tracks. Chelsea advises Adam to get rid of his hatred for Billy. He promises that if Billy hurts her, he will not let it go. Diane is at Jabot when Kyle comes in. Diane wants to help Summer and Kyle in business. She wants to Phyllis' position and makes the offer. Kyle tells his mother that giving her Phyllis' old job could cause major trouble for them. 

Jack reaches Jabot and Diane tells him of the wonderful conversation she had with Kyle. Jack hands Kyle his phone. As Kyle leaves, Jack tells Diane that he has to prepare to have a very uncomfortable conversation with his son about teaming up with Victor and lying to him about it. Victoria arrives at Newman where Victor is on a call. When he hangs up, he gives her an update about their Tucker mission. Over at Crimson Lights, Adam tries to get some information from Connor about Chelsea's connection with Billy. Billy confronts Adam about having an opinion about him and Chelsea going out for dinner. 

Just as Jack tells Diane he never expected this kind of betrayal, Kyle walks in. Victoria tells her father that bringing Adam back to the company would be a mistake. She encourages her father to find a way to let Adam go. Victor says he cannot let go of his son. Chelsea asks Billy about his talk with Adam. Billy shares that he had a similar conversation with Victoria that Chelse had with Adam. Diane leaves Jack and Kyle to talk. Jack tells Kyle about the text from Victor. When Jack asks Kyle why has he been colluding with Victor to get Adam out of Jabot, Adam stands out the door listening as Kyle blurts out, "because he doesn't belong here, dad!"
