On today’s Days of Our Lives (recap) for March 14, 2023: Leo returns home to a stunning sight, Belle and Sloan team up to help Eric and Brady, EJ and Nicole realize they need a new strategy to deal with Stefan, and Johnny confronts his Uncle Stefan.
Eric brings Sloan breakfast in bed and they talk about Leo's column. Sloan wants to know if she is the best sex he ever had. He refuses to answer the question and she asks for another shot. Sloan and Eric finish making love again and Sloan says she is not going to worry about the gossip column anymore because she knows she is the best he ever had. They discuss the cost of his defense and she tells him she thinks the case will be over quickly. She gets a text from the DA and tells Eric she has bad news for him. Eric can't believe that the DA wants to charge him with attempted murder and many other charges. Sloan tells him it might be something she said. She admits to him that she told Trask to throw the book at him when she was mad at him. Eric thinks he's screwed but Sloan gets an idea.
EJ wakes up feeling awful and Nicole offers him his hangover remedy which makes him feel worse. He reminds her that he's not hungover, he was drugged by Stefan. She isn't sure and thinks it may have been an accident. EJ thinks Stefan knows he's on to him. Nicole tells him what he did in front of Shin and EJ is horrified by his behavior. He says he needs to do damage control. Nicole tells him to have it out with Stefan and get everything out in the open. EJ agrees but doesn't want Nicole pulled into the mess more. She tells him to take a shower before confronting Stefan and he convinces her to join him.
Stefan is on the phone with Shin, apologizing for his brother and asking if he is going to relieve EJ of his duties. Johnny comes in and calls him an ass. He accuses his uncle of trying to get his father fired. He says EJ was acting weird because Stefan drugged him. Johnny asks Stefan if he switched the drugged glass on EJ and Stefan asks him if he is saying that EJ was trying to drug him. Johnny tells Stefan to quit playing the victim. Stefan says he was just giving EJ a taste of his own medicine. Johnny tells him to work things out because they are brothers. Stefan throws his affair with Chanel in his face. Johnny tells Stefan that drugging his brother is not ok and that it's affecting the business. Stefan promises to get the company under control but Johnny thinks he should concentrate on working things out with EJ. They are interrupted when Stefan gets a phone call from Sloan.
Xander comes into the office and finds Leo asleep at his desk. Xander wants to know why he slept there and Leo says he was giving him and Gwen privacy. Xander tells him there was no reunion and that he is still in love with Sarah. He tells Leo that he admitted his feelings to Gwen. Leo is worried that Gwen is in agony but then questions why the 'do not disturb' sign was on the door if Xander wasn't there. Xander thinks Gwen wanted to be left alone and Leo blasts him for hurting Gwen. Leo leaves to go check on her.
Gwen wakes up hungover and is horrified to find herself in bed with Alex. She remembers their night together, much to Alex's delight. Alex wants to have sex again but Gwen says it was a mistake. Gwen admits that she used Alex to get back at Xander but he's ok with it. He tells her that they are both consenting adults and kisses her. Gwen tells Alex that her only regret is that she doesn't have time for round three because she has to go to work. She gets in the shower and he makes coffee. Leo walks in and sees him standing there naked.
Brady and Belle are having lunch at the pub and talking about missing Marlena. Brady tries to talk to her about Eric but she shuts him down. He tells her that Sloan is Eric's lawyer. Belle hopes that Eric keeps it professional with Sloan this time. Sloan and Eric join Brady and Belle and Belle notices she missed a button. She tells Sloan that even though they don't get along they should team up to help Brady Eric. She suggests calling Stefan. Sloan tells her that she already did as Stefan walks into the pub.
Brady and Eric step away so that Belle and Sloan can talk to Stefan. They remind him that even though Brady and Eric went about things the wrong way, they were trying to help him. He reluctantly agrees to drop the charges. Eric and Brady thank him but he tells them to thank their lawyers and leaves. Sloan and Belle slap hands in victory and then agree they still can't stand each other. After Eric and Sloan leave Brady suggests that Belle start a law firm with Sloan and Belle shuts his suggestion down immediately.
Alex puts underwear on as Leo watches in awe. He thinks Alex is there as a gift to him from the universe but Alex tells him he spent the night with Gwen as she comes out of the bathroom in a towel. Alex goes to take a shower and Leo congratulates Gwen on her conquest and demands details.
As they are getting dressed Nicole says she should go with EJ to confront Stefan because they're a team. They see Johnny in the parlor and EJ thanks him for his help the night before. Johnny tells them Stefan just left and EJ explains to Johnny that Stefan started drugging him first. Johnny is surprised when he finds out that Stefan was the one who started it all and tells his father to talk it out with him and call it even.
Gwen tells Leo how she and Alex hooked up but what he really wants are the dirty details. She starts to tell him but gets a text about an issue at the paper. She asks him to explain to Alex that she had to leave. When she gets to the office she sees Xander. He offers to handle things so she can take the day off because he feels bad that she spent the night alone and upset. She tells him that she spent the night in bed with Alex.
When Alex comes out of the shower, Leo tells him that Gwen had to go to work. Alex tells him that he has a bone to pick with him for ruining his career.
Nicole apologizes for lying to Johnny about the situation. He comments on her closeness with his father and asks if she is over Eric. She sees Eric walk by with Sloan and tells Johnny that she's getting there. Back at the DiMera mansion, EJ talks about a reckoning coming with his brother and Stefan walks into the parlor.
