On today’s Days of Our Lives (recap) for March 17, 2023: Marlena and Kayla run into a familiar face as they try to escape, Steve and John's search leads them to an old friend -- Hope, Kate has a shocking encounter, and Andrew visits with Paul to speak about their relationship.
Kate asks Bo if it's really him and he tells her it is. She is shocked that he's alive and figures out that Megan brought him back. She tells him that Megan has been keeping her, Kayla, and Marlena imprisoned as well. Kate wants to get them and escape but Bo tells her that they can't. Kate tells him that she knocked Megan out and they have to leave quickly but he tells her they have to go back into the room she just escaped and that they don't have a choice. He convinces her that they have to go back in and get Megan's keys but when they get inside he revives her instead.
Megan is thrilled to see him and Kate realizes that things aren't how they seem. Bo gently helps Megan up and then pulls a gun on Kate when she moves toward the door. Kate tries to convince Bo to trust her but he is unmoved and cocks the gun. Megan still wants to test the serum but Kate grabs the vial from the floor and taunts her with it. Bo tries to get her to hand it over but Kate refuses, instead dropping the vial and crushing it. Megan is furious and tells Bo to kill her!
Marlena and Kayla are shocked when the door opens and they see Rolf grinning back at them from the other side. He comes in and shuts the door to trap them back inside with him. They figure out that he's working for Megan and he proudly admits it. Marlena and Kayla demand to know what happened to Kate. Rolf tells them she is being used to test out his new serum. They want information about the serum but he tells them they have to ask Megan. They want to know about the other tube and he tells them that subject was in a cryogenic state for a decade. They try to figure out who it is but he refuses to give them any information.
Belle goes to see Shawn at the police station. He tells her that he's worried about Hope because he hasn't been able to reach her. Belle talks about everything Megan has taken from them all and Shawn promises she'll be brought to justice. Belle wishes she could find a way to help to distract her from her grief over losing her mother. She tells him how proud Bo would be of him. He talks about all the things his father has missed but tells her how he made peace with his father's death. He wishes he could take her pain over her mother dying away but promises it will get better with time like it did with him. He promises to always be with her and reminds her of all the good things they have.
Steve and John lower their guns as soon as they see it's Hope inside the room. They're all there looking for Megan. They share hugs and greetings and talk about how they all got there. Hope is devastated when they tell her that Marlena, Kayla, and Kate are dead, and talks about Megan's obsession with Bo. She tells them what happened between Bo and Megan in high school and how her obsession started. Hope tells them Megan isn't at the location but tells them that she has a possible lead, pulling out her tablet with a picture of Harris Michaels on it.
Paul tells Andrew that if he is looking for John he already left. Andrew says he is there to see him and asks if he can come in. Paul wants to know if Andrew thinks John and Steve can find Megan but Andrew tells him he can't talk about the investigation but does want to talk about them. They admit that they've missed each other and talk about their meeting and their first kiss. Andrew wishes they could go back to that moment. Paul takes his hand and says maybe they can before kissing him. Paul pulls back because he's worried that they won't be able to make it work again. They talk about all the things that could go wrong and Andrew tells him he still wants to take the chance. They kiss again. Paul and Andrew revel in the afterglow and agree to talk about their future but are interrupted when Andrew gets a call from Hope asking for a favor. She tells him that she needs to get in to see Harris Michaels.
