In today's recap of Days of Our Lives for March 22, 2023: Paulina receives an unpleasant surprise, Leo overhears Chloe badmouthing Rachel, Xander, and Alex come to blows over Gwen, and Brady plays dirty to get what he wants from Kristen.
Chloe gets a call from Kristen at Statesville. She taunts Chloe about Stefan ending things with her. Chloe reminds her that Stefan was brainwashed and tells her to go to hell. Kristen tells her not to hang up because she has something Chloe needs to hear. She warns her to stay away from Brady because of Rachel. She tells Chloe that Rachel hates her. Unaware that Leo is right behind her, Chloe tells Kristen that Rachel is a deranged monster and that if they're not careful she'll turn out just like her mother.
Kristen rips into Chloe for insulting her daughter. Chloe apologizes for losing her temper and says she didn't mean it. Kristen refuses to accept her apology and Chloe tells her to never call her again and hangs up. She is horrified when she sees Leo behind her and realizes he overheard what she said and is planning on putting it in his gossip column. She begs him not to print it but he is unmoved.
Later she goes to his hotel room to plead her case. He agrees to not print it if she gets him one of each item in the new Basic Black men's line. She agrees and leaves. She runs into Xander in the square and tells him what happened. He shows her that Leo went back on their deal and put what she said about Rachel in his new column. She is terrified that Brady will never forgive her.
Leo takes Xander's coffee when they run into each other in the square. They discuss his gossip column and Leo shares with him that he's so tired because Gwen kept him up all night having sex with Alex. He tells him that he had to spend the night on the sofa in the lobby of the inn. Xander is furious that Alex ignored his warning to stay away from Gwen. Leo tells him that if he wanted a claim of Gwen then he should have put a ring on her finger.
Alex and Gwen wake up together and agree they have no regrets about their night together. She tells him she doesn't want to talk about Xander, she would rather talk about him and have a repeat of the night before. They have sex again and he tells her that he has to get to work so he's not late for a big meeting. She suggests they shower together.
When they finally leave the inn they are confronted by Xander who insults Gwen and Alex until Alex pushes him and a fight between the cousins ensues. Gwen breaks up the fight and tells Alex to go to work. He promises to call her later and kisses her goodbye. Before he leaves he promises Xander that it's not over.
After he is gone Gwen rips into Xander and tells him that what she does and who she does it with is none of his business. Afterward, she goes to see Alex at Titan and suggests that they not see each other anymore. He turns down her suggestion and they agree to see where things go between them before kissing.
Brady brings Maggie flowers at Titan to congratulate her on being named CEO. They talk about Alex and she promises to continue to be Brady's AA sponsor. He admits that he's been struggling because of the situation with Chloe. He tells her about the issues between Chloe and Rachel and asks for advice on how to handle it.
Maggie offers to talk to Rachel but he tells her that it won't work because of everything Kristen did to turn Rachel against Chloe. Later when Alex gets to the office Maggie is horrified by his injuries and tells him that she will be taking the important meeting alone.
Chad surprises Stephanie with breakfast in bed to celebrate the first night she slept over and to thank her for forgiving him. She tells him that she knows he was just defending her and she shouldn't have been so hard on him. They kiss and have sex again.
Paulina meets Abe for breakfast at the pub and tells him that they're celebrating Sloan's case against her being dismissed. Abe is worried about Sloan's threats against Paulina and Chanel but Paulina is not concerned. She calls Stephanie and asks her and Chad to meet her at the pub pronto. When they get there she gives them the good news about the lawsuit and asks them to put out a press release about it.
Brady goes to see Kristen in Statesville. She tells him about the conversation with Chloe but he doesn't believe her. He tells her that if she doesn't help him turn Rachel around on Chloe she will never see her again. She angrily agrees to write Rachel a letter and he tells her to make it glowing.
Paulina and Stephanie go to Paulina's office and discuss her relationship with Chad. When they open the door they are shocked to discover the office has been ransacked!
