Over breakfast, Li tells Gabi that he will do anything to get back in her good graces. She says she has to go and he accuses her of running off to meet Stefan. He reminds her of their contract and she assures him that she won't break their deal but will be back together with Stefan when the 6 months are up. She opens the door to leave and finds Johnny on the other side.
Johnny tells Li and Gabi that he came by to see Wendy and Li tells him that she went to see Tripp at the hospital and that she had something important to talk to him about. Johnny says he is going to find her and leaves. Gabi blasts Li for giving Johnny a hard time. Li tells her that he has a gift for her and offers her a box from Saxtons. She thinks it is the purse she wanted but it is a business proposal for a new clothing line collaboration. Li tries to encourage her to pursue it and tells her that he has an in for her with Saxtons and tells her to think about it. She accuses him of trying to distract her from DiMera and Stefan. Li tells her that he believes her and he is trying to help her reclaim herself as a designer and entrepreneur. He gets a text and tells her he has to go but asks her to think about it.
Gabi is considering his proposal when Stefan shows up and kisses her as soon as she opens the door. He tells her about the conversation with EJ and that he pretended to agree to a truce but has no intention of keeping to it. He promises her they'll end up running DiMera together.
EJ calls Stefan out for breaking the agreement they made before EJ made him his Co-CEO. Stefan admits it and makes no apologies. They talk about the things they did to each other and other family members and the regrets they each have. EJ admits that he doesn't regret coming between Stefan and Gabi because he doesn't trust her. Stefan tells him that they are determined to be together and to run DiMera the way they want and that EJ is their only obstacle.
Stefan and EJ talk glowingly about Johnny and Stefan asks him what they do next. EJ says he will have to accept Gabi and Stefan being together and helping him run the company. Stefan asks if he will accept it gracefully and EJ tells him that he has 6 months to make up his mind about that. EJ pours them each a drink to toast their truce.
Stefan questions EJ about who he is texting and if it's business. EJ is evasive. Stefan questions their truce and leaves. After he is gone EJ tells Stefano's portrait that Stefan will never see him coming when he makes his move.
EJ apologizes to Li for making him come in the back when he arrives. Li wants to know why he was summoned. EJ suggests an alliance that will let Li keep Gabi and keep her away from Stefan and DiMera.
Xander thinks Gwen is lying about sleeping with Alex to get back at him. She tells him that he's wrong. He accuses her of doing it to make him jealous and she tells him it had nothing to do with him. He warns her that Alex is using her and he doesn't want him to hurt her. She replies that Zander had no problem hurting her himself. Gwen tells him that she's gotten over wanting him and asks if he was lying about her being the one who should run the paper. He tells her that he did mean it but he has a half interest in the paper to protect it. She tells him that her personal life is off-limits and he leaves to work from his hotel room.
Alex blames Leo for him not being named CEO of Titan and threatens him physically. Leo apologizes and Alex offers him a deal. If Leo agrees to keep his name out of his gossip column then Alex will let him live. Alex gets dressed to leave but Leo has questions for him about his budding romance with Gwen. Alex accuses Leo of trying to get dirt for his column. Leo tells him that Gwen wouldn't let him publish anything from her own life and he warns Alex that he better not hurt Gwen like Zander did. Alex promises that Gwen is safe with him and that they are just friends.
Wendy brings Tripp coffee and breakfast at the hospital to apologize for him getting in trouble. He tells her that it's not her fault, it's Johnny's. After they eat breakfast Tripp thanks her for bringing it to him. She notices something on the side of his mouth and wipes it off for him as Johnny steps off the elevator and sees them.
Wendy asks Johnny what he's doing there and he tells them that he wants to make it right by telling Tripp's supervisor that he was the one who's to blame but Tripp asks him to stay out of it. Johnny agrees to not interfere and apologizes again. Tripp thanks Wendy for breakfast and goes back to work. Wendy thanks Johnny for trying to fix things and says she is proud of him.
Leo gets to the office and Gwen is on the phone trying to keep their advertisers. He tells her that she needs another romp with Alex to relieve her stress. Gwen tells him about her talk with Zander and Leo encourages her to use Alex to make Zander jealous. She tells him that she has no interest in that and Leo suggests they make him suffer instead.
Alex and Zander run into each other in the square and Xander tells him to stay away from Gwen. Alex asks him what he's going to do if he doesn't. Zander says he'll make him pay and taunts him about Maggie getting the CEO job over him. Alex tells him Gwen can choose who she wants to be with. Zander gives him another warning before pushing past him and leaving.
