On today’s General Hospital recap for March 14, 2023: Laura is put on the spot, Lucy is impatient, Cody defends his decision, Dex impresses Sonny, and Maxie and Brook Lynn are dubious.

Sonny demands the sniper tells him who he's working for but he keeps losing consciousness. Sonny questions him more and the sniper tells him that he doesn't know who hired him. Brick shows up with the doctor and Sonny tells him that he needs the guy alive until he gets some answers. The doctor checks but he is already dead. Sonny asks him to check out Dex's wound. The doctor fixes Dex up and Sonny walks Brick through what happened. He instructs Brick to find out who hired the sniper. Brick searches the body and finds a matchbook that Dex recognizes from a local biker bar. 

                 

Sonny says that Dex saved his life. Brick promises to rush the information Sonny wants and leaves.  Dex tries to help move the dead body but starts to falter. Sonny catches him before he collapses. He wants Dex to relax and hydrate because of his blood loss. They talk about Dex's training and Sonny tells Dex he is taking him to his place.

Brick comes back and updates Sonny on what he found and promises to keep digging. He tells Sonny that he has a very powerful enemy. They talk about who it could be and Sonny says whoever it is will be very very sorry. 

                        

Felicia says Cody gave Mac good advice about Kevin and asks how their visit was. Mac says it was good and then it wasn't. Felicia asks what went wrong and Mac doesn't know but sympathizes with how Cody grew up. Mac tells Felicia that Cody is having money problems and he has seen him with Ms. Wu. Felicia thinks he needs stability and asks if they can help him. Mac says that Cody is not their responsibility since he's not family and Felicia says that sometimes he feels like he is. 

Cody admits to Dante that the first test showed Mac was his father and he lied about it. Cody tells him that he screwed up and he doesn't know how to make it right. Dante asks why he lied. Cody explains the connection between Faison and Taub and confesses that was why he pursued Britt. He tells him about the necklace and how he felt it was owed to him and rails against Serena inheriting everything from their mother. Dante says he lied to Mac and used Britt and maybe Sam was right about him. 

Cody tells Dante that he and Sam called a truce and he knows he screwed up. He tells him that he got a second test to show Mac and plans on convincing him that the first test was a mistake. Dante tells him he has to confess the whole truth to Mac. Cody decides that he's not going to tell Mac anything and throws the paternity results away. He thinks Mac will be better off without knowing. Dante asks why Cody thinks he doesn't deserve good things and tells him to stop punishing himself. He talks about the family Cody could have and tries to convince him to tell Mac the truth. Cody doesn't budge and Dante leaves angrily. After he is gone Cody takes the test results out of the trash and looks at them again. 

              

Finn tells Victor that he was able to identify the pathogen they found. He explains how uncommon Victor's symptoms are but assures him that he is in no actual danger. Victor questions how he contracted the pathogen and Finn asks if he has any enemies. He tells Victor that he had to have been given the pathogen intentionally, probably in something he ate or drank. Victor asks him about treatment and Finn tells him that the damage done is not reversible. 

Drew tries to convince Laura to think about his offer but she tells him she can't. He asks if there is something going on. Laura explains that it is just too soon to make any decisions and Charlotte will decide when she is old enough. He understands completely and thanks her. 

                   

Anna suggests they plant false codes in the report they are going to leak to Victor and Valentin likes the idea. Lucy comes into the room and tells them she has to leave because she is worried the Nurse's Ball will be ruined forever without her. She freaks out about everything that can go wrong with the planning. Anna tries to calm her down but Lucy storms to her room and slams the door. Anna tells Valentin she is sad to be missing the Nurse's Ball as well and that Lucy is right about how important she is to the Ball. She tells him that the Ball meant a lot to Robin and is bigger than all of them. 

Anna talks about missing so much of Robin's life. Valentin sympathizes with how she's feeling and assures her that what they're doing will put Victor away and allow Anna to be a part of Robin's future. Lucy comes back out, still in a panic and Anna talks to her about the real mission of the ball and tries to calm her down. Lucy tells them they can't force her to stay. Anna says that they are in the mess they're in because Lucy refused to follow her orders but she is going to now.

                  

Brook Lynn tells Maxie and Bobbie that there is a hitch in them being able to use the Metrocourt ballroom. Carly hears them fighting and asks what is going on. Bobbie tells her that the Nurse's Ball needs a new home. Maxie adds that if they don't find one soon the ball won't happen. They tell Carly that Olivia has agreed they can use the ballroom but they need Nina's approval too. Bobbie is worried that Nina will make them beg but Carly is sure that she will give them permission. She offers her help in any way they need and says she wishes she could save them from having to ask Nina. Nina comes in and asks what Carly is keeping from her now and asks what she walked in on. Maxie explains that they are working on the Nurse's Ball and asks her for permission to use the ballroom. Nina snarks at Carly about losing the Metrocourt and Carly asks her if she wants to help them or not. Nina agrees to let them use the ballroom and offers to help with the planning. Maxie says they all have to work together peacefully. They all agree and Nina asks to speak to Carly alone. 

                 

They leave them alone to talk and run into Drew and Brook Lynn in the hall. She asks for their help in convincing Drew to perform at the Nurse's Ball. They want him to be a part of the strip tease.

Nina tells Carly that she wants to talk about Willow's health. Drew comes in to make sure everything is ok and Nina tells them that Willow promised to keep her in the loop about her health going forward and she wants Drew and Carly to tell her what they know. Carly tells her that Willow didn't say anything about that to her and Drew tells Nina that he will ask Michael and Willow if they can share information with her. Nina tells Carly that she is no longer the gatekeeper of information and before she leaves, warns Carly that she knows more than Carly thinks she does. Carly is mad but Drew stops her from going after Nina.

                    

Laura asks Mac and Felicia about Kevin. They tell her that he had to go see a patient and then Felicia sees Victor come into the restaurant. He orders a drink and then changes his mind and asks for an unopen bottle instead as he remembers what Finn told him. Mac approaches him and asks why he has been avoiding answering questions about Nikolas. 

Victor tells him that he is a busy man and Mac questions him about Nik's whereabouts. He threatens to arrest him for obstruction. Victor tells him that he doesn't know where Nik is and starts to walk away but sees Laura and remembers her threats to him. He says he knows what she has done but she is confused by his accusation. He promises to take her down with him.
