Carly is surprised to see multiple guards when she brings Donna to Sonny for a visit. She wants to know what's going on and is shocked to see Dex there as well. Donna is curious about him and Sonny tells her that Dex is going to be staying with them. Carly sees that he is injured and has more questions for Sonny. He gets Donna settled in her room and fills Carly in on him and Dex being ambushed and tells her that he doesn't think Donna should stay over for a while. He tells her that she doesn't have to worry because she's out of it now but she isn't sure that's true.
Carly's worried about the kids and him but Sonny tells her that he's going to find out what's going on and stop it. Carly tells him she'd love to believe him but they both know he can't make that promise. Carly understands the mob world and knows Sonny will do everything he can to protect them but tells him that she can't go through telling the girls he's not coming back again. Sonny promises to not put her through it again but she reminds him that things happen and he can't control everything.
Nina is thinking about her conversation with Sonny when Phyllis drops by after returning from her trip. Nina shows her a picture of baby Amelia and tells her about Liesel being Willow's donor. She tells her that Willow has agreed to update her about her health but everything else is off-limits, including the children. Phyllis encourages her to respect Willow's wishes and says that eventually, she will let her in completely. She is concerned when she brings up Sonny and Nina looks dismayed.
Nina tells her that she is grappling with dealing with Sonny's business. She tells her that she had thought Sonny had changed from who he was before he lost his memory but now she is wondering if she was wrong. The guards don't make her feel safer and she's seeing sides of Sonny she never knew. Phyllis asks her if she can sustain their relationship now that she knows. Nina tells her that she loves Sonny but has a daughter and grandchildren to think about when it comes to the danger Sonny brings. Phyllis tells her that not everyone is built for Sonny's world and everything that comes along with loving him. "Like Carly was?" Nina asks.
Dex pulls his gun when he hears a noise in his apartment but it's just Joss there to check on him. He apologizes for not telling her about staying with Sonny but she wants to know how he got hurt and what's going on. Dex tells Joss about the ambush. She tells him to take off his shirt so she can check his wound. Once she is satisfied that he's ok they kiss and she says she should thank the doctor. Dex tells her that she should thank Sonny and tells her that Sonny probably saved his life. Joss wonders if Dex is starting to admire Sonny.
Diane interrupts Robert and Eileen talking about the plan. She tells Robert that she's about to make his day. Eileen takes pictures of a file while Robert is busy talking to Diane. She leaves them alone to talk and texts Victor, asking for a meeting. After she leaves Diane pitches Trina's proposal to Robert and tries to convince him to drop the charges against Esme, for now. Robert wants to know why Diane cares about this and she tells him that she is representing Spencer and he wants his baby brother out of prison.
Robert's worried about Esme's victims but Diane assures him that they're all in agreement. He sees the genius in her argument and agrees to her proposal as long as he can talk to the victims himself and knows they're on board. They both hope the justice system will one day hold Esme accountable. Diane suggests they spend time together at the hatchet range.
Valentin and Lucy are annoying each other when Laura shows up. Lucy begs for news. Laura tells her that they are starting to get to Victor but that she can't leave yet. She fills Valentin in on her conversation with Victor at the Metrocourt and tells him about Victor's medical condition. Lucy tries to convince Laura that she has to help with the Nurse's Ball and Laura tries to reassure her that Maxie is handling it. Valentin reminds her that if she gets involved with the planning of the Nurse's Ball their plan will be blown. Laura tells her that she has something that will make her feel better and gives her a letter from Martin.
Laura offers to bring Charlotte to see Valentin but he tells her not to. He feels it is too big of a risk with Victor watching and thanks Laura for getting Charlotte away from Victor and taking such good care of her. They talk about Victor's obsession with family and Laura updates him about Nikolas. She's worried about Victor's focus on Spencer and Ace.
The doctor tells Victor that Finn was right about his condition being irreversible. He offers him a prescription to try to counteract the symptoms and after he leaves to fill it, Eileen shows up to talk to Victor. She tells him that she thinks Laura and Robert know they're connected. He tells her not to contact him again unless she has something he can use against Laura. She shows him the pictures she took. He is thrilled to find out that the necklace still exists and that Robert has it. He wants to know what else is in the file. Eileen tells him she couldn't read all of it but that she knows the necklace is being securely stored at the PCPD. Victor tells her that she has to get it for him and that is her only way out of this. At the Metrocourt bar, Victor calls someone and tells them to check on Holly's recovery.
Sonny promises Carly again that he's going to put a stop to everything going on. Carly asks if there is anything she can do. He asks her to just stay out of it and tells her that he can deal with anything as long as she and the girls are safe. Nina walks into Sonny's penthouse and is unhappy to see them together.
Back at his office, Eileen updates Robert about her conversation with Victor. She tells him that Victor has questions about the night Holly and the necklace were in the fire. Robert tells her that he thought he would and that he's notified the appropriate parties. He tells her that it's time for Phase Two.
Valentin and Laura talk about how perfectly the plan is working and how close they are to finally taking Victor down. Unbeknownst to them, Lucy has snuck out and is in disguise at the Metrocourt!
