On today’s General Hospital recap for March 24, 2023: Esme is skeptical, Sonny doesn't mince words, Spencer mulls over his strategy, Laura receives an unwelcome visitor, and, Cameron runs into Josslyn.
Esme is skeptical when Spencer makes her a tea that promotes lactation. He tells her that she's the one who drugs people. Laura interrupts and reminds him that she is their guest. Esme says she will not stay where she is unwelcome and neither will Ace. Spencer apologizes and answers a knock at the door. It's Victor and he says he's there to collect his nephews. Laura tells him to leave and threatens to call security but Spencer tells her that he will handle it and asks to speak to Victor in the hall.
After they leave Laura apologizes to Esme. Esme admits that Victor gives her a bad feeling. Laura tells her that her fears are justified because Victor is a bad man. She promises Esme that she is protected there and Esme wonders if that includes being protected from Spencer.
Out in the hall, Spencer lashes out at Victor for coming over the way he did. Victor insists that he and the baby belong with him because they are Cassadines and no one will get in the way of him taking who and what he wants. Spencer asks if that means him as well. He tells Victor that's a complicated situation but everyone wants to protect Ace. He shares his plan to put Esme back in jail and get custody of the baby. Victor asks if he still needs his help. Spencer says that he does but they can't talk about it there.
Spencer goes back inside and apologizes to Esme before leaving to go pick up Trina for Cam's party. After he leaves Laura tells Esme about Cameron getting into Stanford and Esme is happy she didn't ruin his life with what she did. Esme knows that her amnesia doesn't absolve her and doesn't understand why Laura is letting her stay there. Laura tells her that she wants Ace safe and not living in prison and tells her she knows how it feels to be separated from a child. Esme thinks that Spencer is still trying to take Ace from her and Laura tells her that he has a lot of reasons to distrust her but that she is trying to and hopes to get there. She asks Esme if she can accept that she really wants what's best for the baby and her.
Esme admits that she has doubts because Laura is Spencer's grandmother. Laura tells her that she will take the first leap of faith. She tells Esme that she is going out and gives her some money in case of an emergency. She reminds her that she's not a prisoner. Esme asks her how she knows she won't take off. Laura replies that she knows that Esme wants what's best for Ace and that is staying where he is. She wishes her a lovely morning before heading out. Esme talks to the baby about if they should stay or go. She doesn't know if she can trust anyone and fears they all want to take the baby from her. She decides to leave and packs a bag but as she opens the door to leave Cameron is on the other side!
Trina comes home and is surprised to see Marshall there. He asks why she is sneaking around her own home and she says she's not sure it is her home. He tells her that she will always have a home there. He agrees that it doesn't feel like home right now and talks to her about being proud of Epiphany and not knowing where he fits in. They talk about Cameron leaving but when she mentions Spencer she thinks it was a mistake because she knows how everyone feels about him. Marshall can tell she is upset about something and asks her to talk to him about it.
Trina admits that she is upset about Spencer living with Esme. She tells him the situation and that she doesn't trust Esme. Marshall thinks Esme should be in prison and is mad that she isn't. Trina admits that dropping the charges was her idea and why she pushed for it. Marshall wants to know why she needs to remain friends with Spencer and what she gets out of it. She tells him that Spencer's worth it and that Spencer makes her feel like she is the best thing that ever happened to him. She admits that she doesn't like seeing him look like a family with Esme and tells Marshall that she and Spencer are more than friends. He asks if she has kept quiet because she's not sure it's what she wants.
Trina tells him that she's sure about wanting to be with Spencer but everything else is confusing and complicated. He tells her that she has her family and that it's not determined by DNA. He promises to be there for anything she wants to talk about even if it's Spencer. He advises her that she may want to remove herself from Spencer's life if it stays so complicated. The doorbell rings and Marshall is less than thrilled to see that it's Spencer.
Eileen is brought back to the safe house with a bag over her head. She is annoyed but Anna refuses to budge on their safety. She asks them to just give her the orders and let her go do them. They show her the fake Ice Princess and tell her that she has to arrange a meeting with Victor right away. Anna admits that they have had some problems and had to let more people in on the plan. Valentin tells her that time is of the essence and Victor has to believe she is giving him what he wants.
Eileen assures them that she's still on their side but she is worried for her safety if Victor finds out the necklace is a fake. Valentin wants her to wear a wire so they can monitor her for her safety but Eileen refuses and says the deal will be off if they insist on the wire. She calls Victor to tell him she has the necklace and asks for a meeting immediately. He tells her to come to his suite at the Metrocourt in 45 minutes.
Eileen asks Anna and Valentin if they have a backup plan for her safety. They tell her that Robert will call her about city business and to raise the alarm if she's in trouble and he will get her out. She wants to know if she will be free once she delivers the necklace but Anna tells her that none of them are free until it's all over. After she is gone Valentin talks to Laura on the phone and she reassures him that she doesn't think Eileen will double-cross them. He says they can't let their guard down where Victor is concerned. Anna is worried about Eileen's safety but Valentin tells her they have to stay focused and finish it.
Sonny tells Dex that Brick wasn't able to get any information on the sniper. He makes a call asking someone to meet him at Pier 55. He tells Dex to never give up and keep digging. Dex wonders if Sonny's family is in danger but Sonny tells him that he's taking care of it.
Josslyn finds Cameron at Kelly's looking at his last paycheck. She tells him she was hoping to find him and was thinking about their conversation about Dex. Before they can talk Sonny walks into Kelly's with Dex. Sonny congratulates Cameron on getting into Stanford and asks to speak to Josslyn privately and brings her outside. She asks him what this is about and he tells her that he's rooting out his enemies.
She asks him which ones because he has so many and he tells her to just keep an eye out. He tells her that he's not going to give her any details but she says she already knows. Sonny wants to know how she knows someone is targeting her. She says Carly told her there was an incident and that Donna couldn't stay with him for a while. She tells him that it breaks her heart that her little sisters think this life is normal and wishes it broke his too.
Inside Kelly's, Cameron tells Dex he has some things to say to him. He tells him that all that matters is Josslyn and if Dex hurts her he will tell Sonny about them. Dex assures him that he cares deeply for Joss and promises that he won't hurt her. Sonny and Joss come back in and Sonny tells Dex they have to go. He wishes Cameron luck at school before leaving with Dex. Joss tells Cameron that she understands if he doesn't want her at his party and he tells her that he wants all his friends there and she's his friend. He asks her if it's serious with Dex and leaves after she tells him that it is.
Josslyn runs into Laura at Kelly's and tells her that she just missed Cameron. They talk about how much they are going to miss him and how proud they are of him. Josslyn is worried that Cameron can never forgive her for breaking his heart and Laura assures her that she did what she had to do and Cameron will forgive her, he just needs time.
Spencer goes to Victor's suite and Victor asks him what he wants to happen to Esme. Spencer is worried that Esme will run off with the baby. Victor promises him that Esme will not raise a Cassadine heir as long as he's alive. Victor offers to fabricate evidence against Esme to have her put back in prison. Spencer tells him that he has to think about it and Victor reminds him that as long as Esme is free she can leave at any time and take the baby with her. After Spencer is gone Eileen shows up and gives Victor the necklace. She tries to leave and tells him that she has city business to attend to but he insists she stays while he makes sure the necklace is authentic.
Sonny and Dex meet with Selena Wu. Sonny wants to know if she knows anything about the hit and Dex shows her a picture of the sniper. She doesn't know who he is but Sonny isn't sure he believes her because the sniper was connected to her bar. She tells him that she can't help him and Sonny asks if she can't or won't. He calls her out for not telling him about buying Brando's garage. She admits she should have but tells him she has no information on the attempt on his life. She tells him that whoever is coming after him is an enemy of them both.
