In today's recap of The Young and the Restless for March 13, 2023, Jack and Diane tell Kyle about their engagement, Elena is suspicious of Victoria, and Phyllis puts her plan in motion.

Victoria arrives at Nate's workplace. He's not there, but Audra is, and she praises Nate for being a decent man and remarks on Elena's good fortune. Victoria sits down and considers whether Audra is aware of what Tucker's potential next step is. Devon's attention span is limited, according to Audra, who also explains that it frequently depends on his mood. If Devon doesn't accept the proposal quickly enough, he can forget about it. Audra expresses her admiration for Victoria and her tenacity in fighting for her family while unafraid to interfere with other families.
Victoria doesn't appear to be sacred to stand in the way of a father and son. Victoria argues that she is not the problem and that what she does is okay. The family member that doesn't cooperate with family goals would be the weak link. When Audra inquires if she is referring to Tucker and Devon, Victoria responds that, of course, she is.

Elena asks Nate when he gets to the Grand Phoenix what is going on between him and Victoria. She mentions her talk with Audra when they ran into each other at Crimson Lights in response to his question about the source of her query. He assures her that it has only been business-related, that he admires her purely on a professional level, and that they get along great. Nate was convinced that Elena knew about his professional connection with Victoria. Elena regrets having questioned him. He assures her that he solely loves her and that she need not be concerned about his work contacts.

When Jeremy arrives at the hotel, Phyllis is questioned about if they truly believed they would be duped into believing that Jack and Diane were in Paris. Phyllis cautions him not to rush into a revenge plot and that when she commits, she truly means it. He has a nice strategy, she says, but the cabin is in Abbott territory. They must entice Jack and Diane to return. She is adamant that the children should not be harmed in any way. She wants them to do what Diane and Jack did to him but encourages him that they should do it much better.

When Kyle enters the coffee shop, he sees his stressed-out wife sitting there. She informs him about her encounter with Phyllis and how Diane is still in the spotlight. He inquires as to whether Phyllis made any specific mentions, and Summer responds by explaining how Phyllis used a present intended for Harrison to obtain information. He questions whether this was just Phyllis being nosy, but Summer believes that she had been acting suspiciously. When Phyllis arrives, she tells them it was extremely urgent and seems frantic. She informs them that Jeremy is on his way to Paris to locate Jack and Diane and is adamant about finding a solution to his issues. Kyle questions how Jeremy could have known his father was in Paris. She acknowledges that Jeremy has been pressuring her to join forces with him to take on Diane. Kyle questions why she didn't inform them. They wouldn't have believed her, she claims. He's not just talking about finding Diane any longer; he's actually going to Paris to look for them. Phyllis hands Kyle his phone so he can call his father before leaving. Phyllis responds in the affirmative when asked if she truly meant anything she said. Summer cautions her that if she can't trust her, that will be the end of them.

Jack observes a preoccupied Diane who is not reading her book. She confesses to him that she has a very strong hunch about something occurring at home. Jack queries what precipitated this. She discusses the weird call she received while he was away and speculates that it might have been Jeremy. She rejects Jack's attempts to soothe her, insisting that she doesn't feel any safer, and recommends that they go home instead so that they can watch over everyone they love. The phone rings. It's Kyle who informs them that Stark is on his way to Paris to find them. Jack and Diane both question whether Jeremy is merely attempting to con them as they did him. Jack is ready for them to return home but they must do it carefully. They query what they should do about the ring and whether they are ready to tell everyone and they agree.

Elena walks into Crimson Lights. In an effort to make up for all of Nate's late hours at the office, Victoria offers Elena to put her drink on her bill. Elena queries his performance at work. Victoria extols his virtues and declares that she believes things will only get better for Nate if he stays with her. Elena nods and doesn't appear to have any doubts. Victoria ends by praising Nate's talent. Victoria walks away while Elena watches, her expression bewildered.
After checking the airport and calling his father, Kyle returns to the coffee shop and informs Summer that Jack and Diane are now on their way home. Summer seems skeptical. She notes that something doesn't add up. She wonders if her mother has not changed at all and is instead collaborating with Stark. Kyle reassures her that nobody is letting their guard down and that Jack was going to return home anyhow.

When Nate enters the office, he accuses Audra of interfering in his private affairs. She strongly denies interfering. She expresses regret for any misunderstanding that they may have. She notes that when Elena questioned her, all she could say was how wonderful and inclusive the workplace dynamic was. She enquires if he approves of her calling Elena to try and make up for whatever errors she could have made.

Nate receives coffee from Elena at the workplace. She says she's sorry for doubting him, but she's afraid of repeating the mistakes that ended his relationship. Work is work, she continues, but any career with high demand can put a strain on any relationship. He is curious as to what she expects of him. He promises her that she won't ever be without him, that he cares for her, and that they are building a future together. The phone rings and it's Victoria asks him if he wants to meet after telling him that she met Audra, who informed her that Elena had left for home. He learns what Audra did and asks Victoria if they can chat tomorrow as he and Elena are already on their way home.

Diane and Jack get home. She mentions the engagement because she wants to be sensible about how they inform Kyle. Kyle will likely accept it very soon, according to Jack. She is reassured not to be concerned about anyone else. They resolve to only occasionally tell close friends and family members. As the kids arrive home, Jack announces that he proposed to Diane and she said yes.

The task is complete, Phyllis informs Jeremy. Everyone believes he is traveling to Paris. He informs her that including her was a wise decision. She refers to herself as a genius. The following step, he warns her, will be challenging. To gain access to some of Diane's personal items, Phyllis needs to win over the Abbotts. They must be uniquely hers, leaving no room for questions.
