Y&R Recap for March 14, 2023: Lauren Catches On to Phyllis' Act

In today's recap of The Young and the Restless for March 14, 2023, Victoria has a proposition for Nate, Sally is haunted by her past, and Lauren calls Phyllis’ bluff.






The news that Jack and Diane are engaged astounds Kyle and Summer. Kyle questions whether Stark's return has anything to do with the engagement and what its true purpose is. Jack disputes that Stark's threat inspired his idea. Kyle is told by Jack and Diane that getting engaged is the logical next step in their relationship. Jack implores them to keep their engagement a secret for the time being as they worry about what people will think. Kyle and Summer support them and want them to be happy, but they question whether marriage is necessary right now. Summer asks Kyle, "What the hell was that?" as Jack and Diane depart. Summer questions whether Diane's goal of getting Jack to marry her was always the goal. Kyle contends that this is untrue and that Summer should cast aside her suspicions and give his mother a second chance. They are concerned about how the engagement announcement will be received by everyone else.









Calling Stark with an update is Phyllis. While assisting him with his plan for retaliation, she warns him not to put any of her family members in jeopardy. As Phyllis hangs up the phone, Lauren passes by and notes that it appeared to be a really emotional phone chat, but Phyllis clarifies that it wasn't because she was only speaking with the salon to schedule a mani-pedi appointment. Phyllis shifts the conversation to the bicentennial celebration. Lauren is perplexed by Phyllis' apparent change in conduct. Phyllis expresses regret for what happened when they last saw one another. Lauren wants to take them on a girls' trip to Vegas; Phyllis replies OK, but not right now because she can't leave. She is questioned by Lauren about her reasons for staying. Diane and Jack enter. Phyllis compliments them on how great they look together. She claims to have lost and wishes she had what they do. Jack inquires about Phyllis' knowledge of their journey. Phyllis says she was the one to inform Kyle and Summer that Stark was heading to Paris to look for them. She explains to them that Jeremy wanted to work with her to exact retribution, but she rejected him. When Lauren realizes what's going on, she tells Phyllis that she gave a fantastic performance and inquires about her true intentions. Phyllis claims she is not up to anything and only wants Jack and Diane to be happy.








Victoria and Nick cross paths at the Grand Phoenix. She wonders if her brother will visit Sally upstairs. Victoria learns from Nick that Adam has recently been acting more maturely. Nick responds that while he hasn't yet, he is prepared for anything as Victoria asks if Adam will use Sally to further whatever goal he may have. She exhorts Nick to remember Adam for who he truly is. Victoria thinks her brother and Sally are less compatible in a relationship than Adam and Sally. Adam is not a concern for Nick. He reveals to her that Adam has approved Victor's proposal to put him in charge of Tucker's business. Victoria claims that won't ever occur. As Nate enters, they dispute how to handle Victor's choice.












Nate is present so they can strategize. Nick acknowledges that he needs to go upstairs to see Sally but Victoria invites him to stay for the conversation. At Nick's departure, Nate moves toward Victoria. They both concur that they must ascertain Ashley's preferences. Victoria wonders what is actually going on for them as things between them start to become a little hot. Victoria says that Nate is welcome to join her in the room she is getting upstairs. If he won't, she claims she will be OK.








Sally is dozing. She has a dream of talking to Summer, then Adam shows up and tells her that they were meant to be. She is reminded by Adam of how ideal their relationship was at one time. He claims that the infant signifies their sincere love. Nick bangs on the door, waking Sally. She runs to the door and entices Nick into a sultry, intense kiss. They undress and start to make love. Nick then ponders Sally's desire for sex and what she is really concerned about. It is indeed Summer, according to Sally. Nick finds it unusual when Sally tells him about her most recent conversation with Summer. He inquires as to whether Sally is still torn.
