In today's recap of The Young and the Restless for March 20, 2023: Nikki enlists Traci’s help with the gala, Diane sets a trap for Phyllis, and Lily and Devon’s feud takes a shocking turn.

Jack tells Tracy his good news and Tracy welcomes him home while they talk at the Abbott Mansion. She offers him her congratulations despite the conflicted expression on her face and acknowledges that it was unexpected but backs up his choice that he is deserving of this joy.
In the lobby of the Grand Phoenix hotel, Phyllis encounters Stark. They aren't supposed to be seen together, so she is unhappy when Diane enters the room. She is accused of lying by Diane. Diane charges her of being aware of Jeremy's visit. When Phyllis asks Diane why she is even in town, Stark supports her. He is informed by Diane that he has no control over her. Phyllis tells Diane that so many people don't buy her act and that she hopes none of them make her pay while Diane claims that she has changed. Jeremy and Diane exchange glances. After boasting about her relationship with Jack and informing them that they will soon learn some shocking information, Diane departs.

Upon entering the coffee shop, Daniel welcomes Lily and offers to chat. She has to hurry to make it to her arbitration appointment. About the case vs. family, he strokes her ego. They discuss her efforts to make everything work out once more. He affirms her right to go to all lengths necessary to prevail.

At Society, Nikki and Tracy get together to talk about the gala plans. Tracy claims that given recent developments, the timing is ideal. Nikki questions what she is referring to. Tracy claims she is speaking generally. She hears from Nikki that she isn't a very good liar. The final inference Nikki makes is whether it's because Stark is back in town.

After arriving home, Diane slams the door. She tells Jack about her run-in with Stark. They are curious about the plans. Diane cautions that Jeremy likes to take advantage of the vulnerability and seems to have a strong understanding of why Phyllis is acting the way she is. She is told by Jack not to be concerned.

Stark and Phyllis are currently in a hotel room, and she is gushing about the potential news Diane may have. As long as they stick to the plan, Jeremy promises her that whatever they have planned won't happen. He inquires as to her level of commitment. She reassures him. She tells him to concentrate as he pulls her in at the waist and remarks on how well they work together.

At the door, Devon gives Abby a kiss and tells her they'll enjoy their evening at the gale once he returns home. Abby begins to recall a discussion she had with Devon about love in the past, during which he described a feeling she had never experienced before.

Stark enters Society and greets Nikki. She makes an effort to get rid of him. He tells her that she has his greatest interest. She warns him not to push her luck and that he has a lot of gall showing up in her face. Nikki tells him not to give her husband a cause to deal with him. He is overestimating her interest in Diane, she informs him. He brings up the gala and the fact that he was not invited. He claims he wants to provide something. He assures her that it will be a memorable evening and that he intends to do his best to help the gala succeed.

Arriving at the Abbott mansion is Phyllis. She claims she has a meeting with Summer. Tracy agrees to let her inside if she makes a pledge not to steal anything. As Diane enters and asks what the hell she's doing, Phyllis has already found Diane's engagement ring. She informs her that she has come to visit Summer. Diane advises her that she shouldn't visit the house at all now that they are aware of her working with Jeremy. Phyllis departs holding her ring.

At the arbitrators, Lily and Devon cross paths. Is there any way they can discuss it, she queries? When Amanda arrives, she instructs her to stop talking.
