Y&R Recap for March 29, 2023: Phyllis Takes The Next Step In Her Revenge Plot

In today's recap of The Young and the Restless for March 29, 2023, Genoa City is shocked by Jack and Diane’s announcement, Danny and Gina return home, and Amanda makes a grand entrance.

Jack parts Diane and Phyllis' fight. Phyllis tells Diane to stay away from her as she storms out. Jack queries what happened. Diane tells him and Kyle about Phyllis luring her into a trap saying that Kyle was sick and needed her help. Jack thinks they should hold off on the engagement announcement but Diane doesn't think they should because she doesn't want Phyllis to take anything else away from her. She steps away to fix herself up and meet Jack downstairs where they will announce their love to the world. 

Summer meets with Phyllis who is struggling to catch her breath. Summer wants to know what really happened. Phyllis says Diane was trying to kill her. Phyllis claims she was trying to work things out with Diane. She wanted to talk but Diane is who she's always been. Phyllis tries to pin everything on Diane but Summer tells her mom to stop. Summer wants to believe her mother but notes they have been down this road before. Phyllis leaves after telling Summer to stay away from her. 

At Crimson Lights, Chelsea tells Billy he picked the right person to go to the gala with. She encourages him to go back since all his family members are still there but he opts to stay with her. Chelsea is still trying to figure out her impulses - good and bad. Billy understands. As they are about to part ways, Billy tells Chelsea that she looks beautiful. Sparks fly and they kiss. 

Audra tries to get some attention at the bar. She notices a phone vibrating and takes it up. She brings the phone to Ashley and Tucker asking if they know who the phone belongs to. Ashley says it's Kyle's phone. Audra takes off to bring the phone to him. Ashley shares that she doesn't know why but she just doesn't trust her. 

Abby asks Devon if he is having second thoughts about dropping the lawsuit. He says no but he is overwhelmed by the whole night, in a good way. He is ready to go home and Abby says she will go with him since she wants to hear about his truce with Lily if he wants to talk about it. Amanda comes down the stairs and sees Devon with Abby. Devon thanks Abby for that tribute for Niel which was included at this year's gala. Amanda walks away before they could see her. Upon leaving, Devon and Abby run into Amanda. 

Jack and Kyle arrive downstairs. They are stunned at what they walked in on earlier. Jack says he just saw a side of Diane he thought was long gone. Kyle notes that what Phyllis did would send anyone over the edge. Diane joins them and says she is ready to enjoy the rest of the evening with her favorite fellas. Diane reveals that she texted Kyle to check on him and when he didn't reply, she assumed what Phyllis had claimed to be true. Kyle is now aware that he misplaced his phone once more. Kyle is given his phone by Audra. She introduces herself and he thanks her for it. Summer arrives and is not really pleased to see Audra given what she did to Noah. Audra leaves. Kyle says he did receive Diane's text. In order to convey some wonderful news, Jack calls everyone's attention and apologizes before directing them to the lounge. When Jack looks for the ring, he discovers that it is missing. Traci and Gina come along and learn that Jack is about to announce his engagement to Diane. Jack says why are they worried about a ring, he is ready to make the announcement anyway. 

Jeremy gives Phyllis compliments on her little scuffle with Diane. He says he heard that it was a masterful performance. He presents the ring and calls it a beauty. He shares that now comes the hardest and most important part asking Phyllis if she's ready. She replies, "Yeah. I'm ready. There's no turning back now."

Adam looks on as Nick and Sally talk. Sharon joins him and tells him that he will have to get used to looking at them. Adam notes that he has been a jackass and asks Sharon how she puts up with him. Sharon explains. She thinks Adam and Sally will have to collaborate a lot more especially when the baby is born. Sally worries about her baby bump being noticeable. She tells Nick that she is starving. Nick suggests they leave but Sally opts to stay. 

Danny and Gina are greeted and welcomed back by Traci, Lauren and Michael. Leanna steps over for some gossip. Gina changes the subject saying she sees the sparks between Daniel and Lily and wants to know what's going on with them.

Daniel and Lily are on the dancefloor. They are happy about her reconciliation with Devon. She promises to tell Daniel the full details about what transpired soon. Danny comes over and wants to talk to his son privately. He wants to know what's going on between him and Lily. Danny offers advice but Daniel tells him when it comes to his personal life, he will make his own decision. Gina comes by and Daniel is happy to see her. 

Jack applauds Traci, Nikki, Lauren and Michael for putting on a spectacular event. Jack gives a speech and then proceeds to announce that he asked Diane to marry him and she said yes. Phyllis arrives downstairs and cheers on Jack and Diane.
