In today's recap of The Young and the Restless for March 31, 2023, Elena loses patience with Victoria, Amanda gives Lily unsolicited advice, and Daniel receives startling news.
Jack desires that Stark go. Everyone has trouble believing that he and Phyllis are truly wed, so he gives them a marriage certificate, which Michael Baldwin says is legit. Stark attributes Diane's role in what transpired with Phyllis. When Chance arrives, he asks Stark whether he has any evidence to back up his claims. Chance, who has come to the event to request statements from everyone, makes Stark pleased to see him. When presenting his proof, Stark mentions that Jack and Kyle saw Diane and Phyllis quarrel earlier. It even got to the point that Diane threatened to strangle her in order to save the world, Diane says they are insane if they believe she did anything to Phyllis.
Diane explains her version of events. Stark should be the one being questioned, Jack tells Chance. Daniel and Summer enter quickly. Summer says they don't know where Phyllis is since something happened on the way to the hospital. Chance agrees to find out what happened after their pleading, and he moves away to do so. Nikki is in disbelief about how a pleasant evening descended into chaos. Leanna believes that the tale should be published. Phyllis' mask is seen by Sharon. She is warned not to touch it by Chance since he might use it in his investigation. He receives a call. He informs everyone that there was an accident and advises them to be on the lookout for the worst-case scenario.
Tucker suggests that they get married, and Ashley chuckles at the idea. He advises that rather than planning a lavish wedding straight away, they elope. Ashley rejects him. No is not an acceptable response to Tucker. He is not giving up and intends to proceed cautiously by making a public announcement of their engagement, if she agrees, much like Jack and Diane did. Ashley promises to give it some thought. The only way Ashley and Tucker might have a relationship, even if only on paper, is for Tucker to convince Devon to purchase his company. When he leaves, Tucker notes that he still wants an answer to his proposition. At the door, he kisses Ashley.
Devon returns home to Abby. She's interested in finding out what happened with Amanda after she departed. Devon informs her that things spiraled out of control. Abby thinks it's Amanda, but Devon tells her that Phyllis collapsed and Jack and Diane announced their engagement. Devon thanks Abby for assisting him in letting go of his guilt and making the crucial choice to forgive Lily. Devon is unsure of his next steps, including whether to take over McCall or go back to Chancellor Winters. Whatever he decides, Abby swears she'll be there for him. She receives a move-in request from Devon.
At the bar, Elena and Nate talk about what happened to Phyllis. Victoria and Audra watch as Audra highlights the spark between Elena and Nate. Audra says she must go and promises to present Victoria with an exciting new project soon. Victoria wants to go check on Nate.
Amanda and Lily worry about Phyllis. Amanda is stunned that her best friend told her nothing about marrying Stark. Lily shares that they just have to wait to hear word from Daniel. Lily asks Amanda about her earlier talk with Devon. Amanda advises Lily to be careful when it comes to trusting Devon. Amanda and Lily walk over to Elena to get an update on Phyllis. She tells them that Memorial said the ambulance didn't arrive yet. Victoria steps over and asks Nate if there is any update. He says no. Victoria points out how well they collaborated in the moment with Phyllis. Elena agrees and shares that she has some ideas of how they could have some amazing teamwork in their lives again.
Tucker meets Audra at Society. She tells him that she has a plan in the works for what she's really after. Tucker offers to help. She tells him she needs to track down a man named JT Hellstrom.
