In today's recap of The Young and the Restless for March 8, 2023, Victor strikes a deal, Daniel reveals a secret, and Devon questions Tucker’s sincerity.
When Adam meets with Victor, he informs him that he wants the position but wants to manage it as a separate entity. He is reluctant to work with Victor but his father reminds him that it was the plan it still is. Adam fills Victor in on his time at Jabot. Adam concedes that Victor was right regarding the position at Jabot and that he never did he belong there.
Victoria arrives at Devon's house. She wants to talk about the McCall agreement. She tells him she suspects that Ashley acquired his dad's debt. She inquires if he is aware that Tucker offered to sell to Victoria first. Victoria appears to be attempting to cast doubt on Tucker in Devon. He claims Tucker made it appear as though he was the first to receive the offer. In case she needs to use force to take over the business, she asks him where he stands. Devon highlights that Tucker is not the only person he doesn't trust in town. He doesn't trust her so he decides that he won't discuss this with her. She says she wants the business and that Tucker is only using it as a means of getting close to him because it is a curse.
Abby is curious about what her mother is really doing. She speculates about what Tucker must have done to win back her confidence. Ashley informs her that the questions she has at this time cannot be answered. Devon is the subject of Abby's concern. Ashley admits that she is also concerned about him. Abby queries the validity of the agreement with Tucker. She is informed by Ashley that Tucker never says something unless he truly means it. Tucker appears just as Abby leaves. He notes that he made any progress with Devon. She advises him not to give up on Devon because this is what will determine his and his grandson's destiny. What about their future, he queries? Ashley approaches him and kisses him. He promises to fulfill her wishes if she will just let him know what they are. She expresses to him her desire for this to succeed and her want for him to mend fences with Devon. Tucker unexpectedly receives a text from Devon asking for them to talk. He tells Ashley that it must be because of the kiss. They say goodbye after an extremely tender exchange.
When Abby arrives at Devon's, he is doing research on Tucker's business. He assures her that despite the shambles the business is in, it has solid foundations. She is informed that although he is unsure of the timing, the purchase might serve as a good safety net for him. He wonders if Tucker is simply using him as a pawn. What if there are no conditions? she asks. She advises him to consider the possibility that Tucker can change. He informs her that he learned he wasn't his father's first to get an offer for the company. They conclude that this choice may have been influenced by the debt and the person who bought it.
Nate expresses concern for his cousins to Daniel. Daniel questions his true intentions. Nate pleads for his assistance to undo the harm he's done to his family. When they arrive at Nate's office, he is discussing the destruction he brought about. Daniel tells him he is not interested in helping him. He does not wish to take part in that conflict. He tells Nate to let Devon and Lily figure it out by themselves. Upon meeting with Lily, Daniel tells her about Nate's attempt. Lily is not happy to learn about what Nate did. She goes on and on about her father's legacy.
Victoria shares the conversation she had with Devon with her father. Victor informs her that Adam would be in charge of running the business as a separate entity. He instructs her to accept it or reject it. She tells him he's merely catering to Adam to earn his affection. Nate enters, and Victor leaves. She resents Victor's revelation news and shares it with Nate and explains that her goals haven't changed. She still regards McCall as her own. She assures him that everything is in order.
