Days Recap for April 12, 2023: Chanel and Sloan Get Physical

In today's recap of Days of Our Lives for April 12, 2023: Chanel and Sloan get into a physical brawl, Rafe and Jada come clean about their feelings for each other, Eric continues to have doubts about Sloan's innocence, and Xander kisses Chloe in front of Gwen.

Chanel brings Paulina treats from the bakery and Paulina tells her about her run-in with Sloan and the text message. Chanel is angry and Paulina promises her that Sloan won't get away with any of it. Chanel leaves to go pick up dinner for them all and when Abe gets home Paulina shares their conversation with him. He thinks they should leave Salem for a little while to get away from Sloan but she refuses to leave Chanel and knows Chanel won't leave her bakery to go with them.

Gwen confronts Xander and Chloe about being a couple. They try to deny it but she refuses to believe them and accuses Xander of lying about why he broke up with her. Xander gets angry and tells Gwen that she's right, that he and Chloe are together and he kisses Chloe to prove it. Gwen leaves in tears and Chloe slaps Xander for using her to prove a point. He apologizes and asks her to give him another chance because he wants them to be friends. Chloe's cautious but eventually relents and agrees to give him a pass, this time. 

Back at the hotel, Gwen tells Leo about what happened and he thinks that this means their plan to make Xander jealous is working but Gwen is unconvinced and thinks Xander may have real feelings for Chloe. 

Eric gets to Sloan's apartment and finds Jada executing a search warrant. She tells him about the text message Paulina got. He defends Sloan but Jada is unconvinced. They talk about their personal lives and before she leaves she asks him to tell Sloan she needs to come down to the police station and bring her phone. When Sloan gets home he conveys the message and Sloan can tell he doubts her innocence. She offers him her phone to check for himself but he tells her that he believes her. When she goes to take a shower, Eric picks up her phone.

Talia goes to Rafe's office looking for her sister. He tells her that she's executing a warrant and she asks how his dinner with Jada went just as Abe walks in and overhears her. Abe questions Rafe who assures him that it was totally innocent. Abe believes him and changes the subject to the investigation into Sloan. Rafe brings him up to speed and promises to keep him updated. After Abe leaves Rafe explains to Talia about the department policy and asks her to back off but she is undeterred. When Jada gets back to the station later, he tells her what happened and admits that he's interested in her romantically. She tells him that she feels the same but they both agree that it can't go anywhere because of their jobs.

Sloan goes to Leo's hotel room and demands a retraction of his article about her. He asks her for an interview instead, telling her that getting her side of the story out is the best way to turn public opinion on her side. She refuses and tells him that he better issue a retraction or she's going to sue him. Outside she runs into Chanel and they exchange words. 

Chanel slaps her and things get physical but Talia breaks it up before anyone gets seriously hurt. Sloan leaves but not before threatening to get a restraining order on Chanel. Talia takes Chanel into the bakery to clean up a scratch she got and they share a moment of closeness. Chanel invites her to dinner with her family and they leave together. Later a mysterious figure goes into the kitchen and dumps a vial of liquid into a bowl of dough!
