GH Recap for April 19, 2023: Trina Gets Caught!

On today's General Hospital for April 19, 2023: Curtis has a light bulb moment, Victor learns of a setback, Nina seeks solace, Ava gives Carly food for thought, and Elizabeth compliments Austin.

Nina is upset when Sonny tells her that Michael and Willow are getting married the next day. She thinks it means the end is near for Willow and that she's giving up but Sonny tells her they just want to express their love. Michael calls Sonny and asks to meet him, agreeing to come to the hospital chapel. When he gets there Nina leaves them alone to talk and Michael invites Sonny to the wedding. He tells him that it'll be small and that the invitation is only for him.

Sonny asks if that means Nina can't come and Michael tells him yes. Nina comes back to get her purse and overhears. Sonny hesitates about going but Nina encourages him to. After she leaves Michael tells him that it's up to him and to let him know what he decides. Sonny tells him that he's already made his decision and he'll go.

Carly goes to Ava's to invite Avery to be a flower girl for Willow and Michael and after she goes to bed Ava asks her if Nina's invited to the wedding. Ava puts on an impassioned defense for Nina but Carly can't figure out why they are even friends after what Nina did to her. Ava makes a jab about Carly keeping Nina from her daughters and Carly reminds her about what she did to Morgan.

Carly asks if the reason she's going so hard for Nina is that she can't for Trina. Ava doesn't know what she's talking about and Carly fills her in on Trina being kidnapped. Ava is frantic to get to Portia to get information and asks Carly to stay with Avery before she leaves. After she's gone the doorbell rings and when Carly answers it, Nina is on the other side.

Esme is getting released from the hospital and Laura is there to bring her home. She sees Curtis and they talk about Trina. He wants to go to the PCPD but Laura talks him out of it and calms him down. While Laura is talking to Curtis, Esme talks to Austin and Liz about Ace being missing and his colic. Austin assures her that he'll be fine and that she's a good mother and she'll get her baby back soon.

Esme leaves and Liz and Austin compliment each other about how they dealt with her situation. Laura and Curtis are strategizing about the situation with Victor when Esme tells them that she's been released. She leaves them alone to finish their conversation and Laura explains her feelings about Esme's memory loss. She brings up Drew's memory issues and Curtis gets an idea from that.

Amy tells Austin he should stop seeing Ava because she's dangerous and her ex disappeared. Liz sends her away to do some filing and apologizes to Austin just as Ava walks into GH looking for Portia. Curtis tells Laura he wants to talk to Drew about the ship and see if he can remember anything as Esme comes back with tea for her and Laura. She tells Curtis she hopes Trina will be ok before he leaves.

Trina goes to Spencer's room and tells him about what she did and shows him the walkie-talkie. He tells her about Victor's plan and she decides that they have to try to slow down the boat so the authorities can catch up to them before they reach land. Spencer tries to talk her out of it because of the danger but she is unswayed. She promises to be careful and leaves his room.

Unbeknownst to them, Victor's guards have noticed the missing walkie-talkie and notified him. He brings a fussy Ace to Spencer for help calming him down and Spencer tells him about the colic. Victor leaves the baby with Spencer and his men tell him that the engine isn't working correctly and they're slowing down. Later Victor has Spencer brought to the dining room and tells him he has decided to let him eat. He has Ace taken back to the nanny and has their dinner guest brought in - it's Trina!
