Performer of the Week

There is no doubt that Kristian Alfonso, who plays Hope Williams Brady on Days of Our Lives, is daytime royalty. Here character Hope is one of the classic soap heroines and she is one half of an OG 80’s supercouple, Bo (Peter Reckell) and Hope. Days fans went crazy when it was announced that they were returning to the show for a story arc this year and Alfonso did not disappoint. She came out swinging and knocked us all out with the powerful performances that she turned in, one right after another, in every episode she was on. The climax came this week with the long-awaited reunion of our beloved ‘Bope’. 

Harris (Steve Burton) sent Hope to search Victor’s childhood home, not telling her that she would find the husband who had died in her arms from a brain tumor years before. We watched her shock turn to disbelief, her disbelief to joy, and her joy to confusion all in a span of a few minutes as Hope processed that Bo was alive and realized that he was not the man she had fallen in love with due to Megan’s (Miranda Wilson) brainwashing. But this was Bo and Hope was not going to give up on him or their love. She tried to remind him of everything they were to each other and everyone who loved him, but he remained undeterred from his path. Eventually, he took her to a cliff at gunpoint, determined to send her over to get her out of his life permanently. 

Hope tried to make him see that the only way forward for either of them was together and Kristian displayed Hope’s steel nerves during that time as she pleaded with her soulmate over the gun he had pointed at her. When there was nothing left to say Hope closed her eyes and gave it all over to their love, accepting whatever happened next and in that moment, she got through to Bo and made the audience catch their breath with the performance she delivered with that one act, how much emotion she packed into a simple closing of the eyes. Alfonso delivered many amazing performances during this run but the scenes on the cliff in Greece were Emmy-worthy soapy goodness and that is why she is our Performer of the Week! Days of Our Lives

Shawn shot Bo assuming that his mother was in danger. Bo went into a coma. Ciara learned the truth and offered encouragement to her brother. Roman and others discovered that Bo didn't actually kill Kate. Kate was later seen cutting fish. Harris remained remorseful for his actions. Chloe and Xander decided to move in together. Melinda Trask ripped into Sloan believing she was responsible for the drugged biscuits. Chanel turned to Alex for help. Talia met with Colin who was revealed to be Sloan's brother with a vendetta against Chanel and Paulina. 

General Hospital

The SEC came for Carly and she was taken to the station. Valentin, Laura, Curtis and Drew went on their rescue mission. Nina gave Martin the information to hand to the SEC. Willow and Michael finally got married with Sam officiating. Tracy made her return to Port Charles surprising her family. Michael blamed Ned and so did Brook Lynn. Andre Maddox returned to town when Anna needed his help. Holly revealed what she learned from Ethan. She also interrupted Diane and Robert.

The Bold and the Beautiful

Sheila has a grand plan and met with a mysterious person. RJ Forretser's return was celebrated by his blended family. Liam talked about Hope and Thomas with Steffy and then Wyatt. Bill was reluctant in giving up on Katie. Sheila had a visit from Steffy who made a vow to wipe her from Finn's memory. Ridge made his son a huge offer. 

The Young and the Restless

Phyllis revealed herself to Summer. Summer wanted to take her home but Phyllis begged her to keep her secret until she could come up with a plan. Jack asked Diane to marry him right away. Lauren lashed out at Michael for taking Diane's case. Tucker moved in with Ashley after selling his company to Victor. Adam and Sally learned that they are having a baby girl. Nate and Victor headed out of town on a business trip. He lied to Elena about who he was going with. Victor offered Adam the company he purchased from Tucker. Diane learned about the evidence that the police has against her. News of Stark's death hit Genoa City and Chance and Sharon went on their first date.
