Spoilers for General Hospital on May 15, 2023: Sonny is taken by surprise; Dex's news leaves Josslyn shaken; Gladys takes a loss. Scott pitches a new plan, and Brook Lynn reports for duty.
General Hospital Recap for May 15, 2023: Michael Extends An Olive Branch To Sonny
Dex tells Joss goodbye and tells her that he has to leave. He tells her about Michael's decision to not use the evidence he gathered against Sonny and tells her that he won't change his mind about it. Dex sadly explains that his only choice is to leave and start a new life somewhere else. Joss insists that she will go with him but he tells her that she can't.
Dex tells her that he wants her with him but it wouldn't be fair to her. He says that she would have to walk away from her life, her family, and her future plans and he can't let her do it. Joss admits that she doesn't want to leave everyone and everything behind but tells him that she doesn't want to lose him either.
Joss asks him to stay. Dex tells her that would mean he has to stay working for Sonny and she promises that it will only be until they figure a way out of it for him. He reluctantly agrees to stay and she promises that they will find a solution as she hugs him.
Sasha goes to the Heart and Home set and remembers the last time she was there. She asks a crew member if she can look around and is stopped by Haven de Havilland who tells her that she will not work with her again. Sasha tries to tell her that she's ok now but Haven is unmoved. She goes to speak to her producer who tells her that the last time Sasha was on their ratings soared.
The producer and Haven conspire to make the best of Sasha's appearance as Brook Lynn arrives and tells Sasha that she is back working for Deception again. Lucy arrives and is concerned about Sasha making the appearance but Sasha promises her that she can do it and Brook Lynn backs her up.
Flora is surprised to see Sasha there after what happened at her last appearance and Sasha is just as surprised to see Flora. Brook Lynn sees a social media post sent out by the Heart and Home team that alluded to Sasha's on-air breakdown and they realize that Flora has been brought in to try to help push Sasha into another one for ratings.
Sasha and Flora are determined to not let it happen and agree to work together against Haven. When they are on air Sasha nicely pivots away from Haven's attempts to bring up her breakdown and talks about the latest Deception beauty product. She's thrown when she hears the sound of a baby crying and doesn't know where it's coming from.
Anna comes home and hears a noise as soon as she walks into her house. She draws her gun but quickly sees that it's just Valentin. He came over to cook her a welcome-home dinner. They are kissing when Robert shows up and wants to talk to Anna about what happened in Greenland. He knows he is interrupting their alone time but doesn't care.
At the Savoy, Gladys is lamenting her poker losses and orders a drink to drown her sorrows. She tries to talk to Scott but he rebuffs her. Cody comes over and taunts her about her loss and she accuses him of cheating. He tells her that he doesn't have to cheat because she's such a bad player. She moves to a table and Cody asks Scott to be his lawyer.
Scott declines but Cody is persistent and insists that he's innocent and can afford to pay him a high fee. Selina Wu approaches Gladys about paying back her $85,000 loss but Gladys tells her she doesn't have that much on hand. Mac and Felicia arrive to meet Holly for drinks and once she sees Cody Felicia thinks he is the reason Mac wanted to go there.
Selina suggests she take it from Sasha's account since she controls it but Gladys refuses. Selina tells her that she has to come up with the entire amount immediately. Scott goes over to Mac and Felicia to get away from Cody and talks to them about what happened with Holly and the Victor situation. They discuss the Ice Princess necklace and Mac tells him that it went down with the Haunted Star when the WSB bombed it.
Scott gets an idea and tells Cody that he will represent him...in a lawsuit against the WSB for the money he lost when they sank the Ice Princess with the Haunted Star. He tells Cody that he has to agree to split whatever he gets with Serena. Cody agrees but has second thoughts when Scott tells him that he has to sign an affidavit saying Leopald Taub was his father.
Mac has to leave after he gets a call from the station. Scott tries to pin Cody down for an appointment but he is wavering on the lawsuit. Cody hears Felicia say that Sasha is about to be appearing on the Home and Heart show and that they're promoting it by suggesting she might have another breakdown. Cody says he has to leave immediately. As he goes he agrees to come see Scott the next day. Selina tells Gladys she may have another way for her to repay her debt.
Nina approaches Drew at the hospital and thanks him for bringing Liesl back in time for Willow to get her transplant. She tells him about the promise she made to Willow and wants to have a fresh start with Carly. Drew tells her that it won't be that easy and that if she really wants to do she has to take responsibility for her actions first.
Michael tells Sonny that he needs things to change. He tells him that he wants to end their war for his sibling's sake and that Willow asked him to do it. Sonny asks about Nina but Michael says she is not part of this for him and that is Willow's decision to make. He asks Sonny to tell Nina to back off of Willow but Sonny refuses. Sonny does agree to stay out of it and not put any pressure on Willow. Michael says that he will do the same and then leaves to go back to the hospital. Before he goes Sonny tells him that he is there for anything Willow might need.
