Spoilers for General Hospital on May 16, 2023: Nina arrives at Carly's; Robert seeks romantic advice; Diane puts her cards on the table; Sasha faces her fear; and Cody rides to the rescue.
General Hospital Episode Recap for May 16, 2023: Cody Threatens To Go Full Monty To Save Sasha!
Robert tries to guilt Anna about not thinking about her family when she risked her life to save Valentin but she shuts him down. She wants him to leave so she can relax and enjoy her night with Valentin but he is reluctant to leave. He finally admits that he needs her advice on his love life.
Robert tells Anna about his dilemma with Holly and Diane and wants her advice on who he should choose. She tells him that only he can make that decision but walks him through the pros and cons of being with each woman. When he leaves he tells her that it hasn't settled it for him but has helped. After he's gone Anna settles in and relaxes with Valentin.
On the Heart and Home set Sasha is thrown by the sound of the baby crying in her earpiece and the producer gleefully orders that the volume be turned up. Brook Lynn and Lucy watch and worry because they can tell something is wrong. Sasha tries to push through but is distracted again when the volume goes up.
The producer is thrilled that it seems to be working and orders it turned up more but Cody shows up and starts to strip off his clothes while demanding they cut the sound off! He threatens to streak naked onscreen and subject them to massive FCC fines if they don't so the producer reluctantly gives in. Once the sound stops Sasha realizes that she wasn't imagining it and feeling empowered she finishes the segment flawlessly.
After the segment is over she fills Brook Lynn and Lucy in on what happened and Flora overhears. She storms over to Haven and accuses her of trying to make Sasha have an on-air breakdown. Haven tries to deny it but Flora quits. Lucy threatens the producer that Heart and Home better make amends while Brook Lynn spots Cody out of the corner of her eye.
Brook Lynn goes over to Cody and asks if he had anything to do with the sound being cut off and he denies it but she doesn't believe him. Later Cody approaches Haven and threatens her to never do anything to try and hurt Sasha again or she'll have to deal with him.
Alexis goes to the Savoy to meet Diane who wants her take on the situation with Robert and Holly. Just as they start talking Holly arrives to meet Felicia. Holly asks Diane and Alexis if they can join them and Diane suggests that she and Holly speak alone. Alexis and Felicia go to the bar and discuss the paper while Holly and Diane talk about Robert. Diane makes it clear that she will not compete with Holly but asks Holly what makes her think that she and Robert can make it work this time when the others have all failed.
Selina takes Gladys into the hallway to talk and one of her henchmen comes over and stands behind her. She suggests again that Gladys get the money from Sasha's account but tells her that if she doesn't want to do that then maybe she can get her information on Sonny. Gladys argues that she can't do that because they aren't close and Sonny doesn't even like her. Selina tells her that she has until noon the next day to get the money, or else.
Lucy, Brook Lynn, and Sasha arrive at the Savoy to celebrate. Lucy tells them that the producers agreed to give them 5 more spots in primetime to make up for what happened and tells Sasha that she wants her to be the spokesperson for the new product. Sasha is feeling great and thinks it may be time to take back control over her life.
Gladys overhears Sasha talking about getting rid of the guardianship and is worried. Wu approaches Holly and asks her if she would like to partner with her and Holly is open to it. Robert watches them talk in concern.
Nina goes to Carly and thanks her for inviting her over. Carly offers her a glass of wine and Nina tells her that she needs her help with Willow and apologizes to her for blaming her for her bad relationship with Willow. Carly tells her that she will help her with Willow but before she can continue Nina immediately starts telling her things she wants her to do.
Carly stops her and specifies that when she said help what she meant is that she would not do anything to discourage Willow to have a relationship with Nina if she wanted one but she will not advocate for Nina to Willow. Nina gets angry and accuses Carly of not wanting to help her fix things. Carly tries to explain that she can't and the only thing that will is Nina letting Willow do it in her own time, on her own terms.
Nina lashes out at Carly again but Carly stands her ground and tells Nina that she knows that she's right. Nina almost slips about tipping off the SEC but catches herself. Before she leaves she snarkily wishes Carly luck with the SEC under her breath and then slams the door on her way out.
