Spoilers for General Hospital on May 18, 2023: Jordan offers congratulations; Alexis gets an invitation; Sam is thrown; Molly is troubled; and Holly makes a big decision.
General Hospital Episode Recap for May 18, 2023: Curtis Kisses Jordan!
Sam is waiting for Alexis in her office and is surprised to see her walk in with Esme. Esme remembers Sam from when she was locked up and is suspicious when she finds out that Sam is Alexis's daughter and therefore a Cassadine. She thinks the job offer was an elaborate plot but Alexis promises her that it isn't and directs her to go to HR. Esme says that she will trust it, for now, before leaving.
Sam expresses her surprise at her mother offering Esme a job and Alexis explains that Laura wanted her help with keeping Esme and Ace in town and this was what she came up with. Sam thinks she is setting herself up for a messy situation but Alexis changes the subject. While they are talking Alexis gets an invitation to the reading of Victor's will.
Sam shows Alexis that she got one too and they discuss it. They agree that it isn't anything good and then they discuss Alexis's friendship with Gregory. She tells Sam that he confided in her but that she hasn't heard from him since and doesn't want to push. Sam encourages her to push since he confided in her.
Dr. Navarro breaks the bad news to Molly and TJ that, due to her endometriosis, Molly is unlikely to be able to conceive a child. Molly is devastated. The doctor explains the various ways it could be affecting her fertility and TJ tries to console Molly but she is inconsolable. She tells him she knows that there are other ways that they can have a child and they will but she is heartbroken and needs time to process the news. TJ promises to be there for her and tells her that they will get through it together.
Curtis, Trina, Spencer, Portia, and Taggert are waiting for the DNA test when the lab tech finally tells them that the lab can take them now. After Curtis takes his test he gets uncomfortable watching Taggert, Portia, and Trina and leaves to go to his club. Spencer leaves Portia and Trina alone to talk while Taggert is taking his test and Trina tells Portia that even thought she hasn't forgiven her completely, she is glad she is there for her in this.
Spencer is surprised when Esme shows up at the hospital. She tells him that she is there to get a drug test for her new job. He demands to know where she is working and is floored when she tells him that Alexis hired her to work at the Invader. She tells him she needs to save as much money as she can so she can be independent and support her son. Spencer tells her that if she leaves he will follow her and make sure he is in his brother's life. Esme tells him that she doesn't care what he does as long as he doesn't try to take her child from her.
After she leaves Spencer is furious but Trina calms him down and tells him that this is a good thing because it might keep Esme in Port Charles with Ace. They share a tender moment which Portia watches intently. Taggert tells her that she shouldn't say anything and she tells him that she has to act now to protect her daughter from Spencer.
Holly tries to explain to Robert why she is at the Savoy but he tells her it's too late for that. N'neeka comes in and tells them that they aren't open yet so they go to talk on the docks. Holly explains to Robert about Ethan being in trouble and why she didn't come to him. She tells him that she still loves him but realizes that isn't going to be enough, that the time for them to be together has passed. Robert tells her that he will always love her too and they share a tender goodbye before Holly leaves.
When Curtis gets to the club N'neeka fills him in on problems with the sound system and then leaves him to his paperwork. Jordan shows up to congratulate him for a job well done in Greenland and they talk about Trina. He tells her that he wants to be Trina's father but doesn't want to come between her and Taggert. He is torn up over the whole thing. Jordan tells him that he has so many people that love him and they share a passionate kiss.
