Spoilers for General Hospital on May 19, 2023: Taggert advises Portia; Michael updates Dante; Josslyn has a request for Sonny; Sasha supports Nina; and Scott meets with Cody.
General Hospital Episode Recap May 19, 2023: Gladys Tries To Con Sonny!
Jordan and Curtis are kissing passionately and he takes her hand and tells her they should get out of there. He takes her hand and starts to lead her out but she stops him because she thinks they should talk. She tells him that she wants to be sure that he isn't just on the rebound and admits that she still loves him. Curtis admits that he doesn't know what he wants but he feels like he's at loose ends. Jordan tells him to figure out where things stand with Portia and his marriage and to let her know before she leaves.
Taggert strongly cautions Portia against interfering between Trina and Spencer and asks her if she is doing it because she is really concerned or trying to distract herself from her issues with Curtis. She insists that she really does believe that Spencer is bad for Trina but also admits that she doesn't know what to do about Curtis. Taggert advises her to fight for her marriage.
Sasha goes to Nina's office to discuss the latest Deception ad campaign. They talk about the situation with Willow and Nina and what happened when Sasha made her last TV appearance. Sasha tells Nina that she's feeling very empowered and ready to take control of her life back. She tells her that she is going to petition the court to remove the guardianship and Nina tells her how proud she is of her. The two share a touching moment, telling each other what they mean to the other and hugging.
Joss goes to Sonny's office and asks him to fire Dex. He tells her that if Dex wants out then he has to come and talk to him himself. Outside of Sonny's office, Dex is waiting to see Sonny when Gladys shows up and insists that she has to see him first. She watches intently as Frank hands Dex an envelope of cash and tells him that it's from Sonny.
When Joss leaves Sonny's office she bumps into Dex who is surprised to see her there. While they are talking Gladys slips by them and into the office, closing the door behind her. She tells Sonny that she's there to offer him an investment opportunity. She pitches the idea of him investing in Deception's new line with a finder's fee to her but Sonny turns her down and tells her that it would be insider trading and he wouldn't want her to get in trouble.
Sonny tells Gladys that he has to go and tells Frank to get her a box of biscotti as he leaves. She tries to get info about his business out of Frank but is unsuccessful. After Gladys leaves she calls Selina Wu and tells her that she has information for her. In the alley, Joss explains to Dex why she was in Sonny's office and he is angry that she went behind his back.
Joss is confused because she thought Dex wanted out. He kisses her passionately and tells her that he does but that they need to be a team and trust each other. She tells him that she does trust him and he says the same to her. Joss tells him she has something to take care of and when he questions her she tells him to trust her and leaves.
Dante overhears Michael on the phone telling Carly that he's not going to let Nina anywhere near Willow. After he hangs up Dante asks him if that's Willow's choice or his. Michael tells him that if Willow wants to have a relationship with Nina that is up to her but he is going to protect her while she is so sick. He tells Dante that things are better between him and Sonny and he thinks that he will put his family first. Dante cautions him not to make Sonny choose and then tells Michael he can always reach out to him if he needs anything. After Dante leaves Joss approaches Michael and tells him that she needs to talk to him about Dex.
Sasha and Maxie meet up at the coffeehouse and Maxie tells her that she has to tell her something about Cody. She proceeds to tell her about what Cody did at the TV studio and then Sasha asks her if Cody is still at Kelly's. Maxie says that she thinks he is and Sasha takes off quickly.
At Kelly's Scotty is talking to Cody about the affidavit for the lawsuit but Cody is distracted when he sees Liesl with James. He goes over to them and helps Liesl talk James into giving summer camp a try even though he's afraid. Liesl is thankful to him. When she and James are leaving Scotty offers them a ride home and is thrilled when Liesl accepts. Cody is eating an ice cream sundae at Kelly's when Sasha comes in and smiles at him.
