Spoilers for General Hospital on May 22, 2023: Nina vents her frustration; Gladys meets with Selina; Tracy dines with Chase; Josslyn confronts Michael; and Gregory matches wits.
General Hospital Episode Recap May 22, 2023: Carly and Drew Come Up With a Plan!
Nina vents to Sonny about her conversation with Carly and he tells her about his with Michael. She tells him that she understands that he has to stay neutral so that he can have a relationship with his son but she's obviously hurt. She questions if he can really trust Michael will hold up his end of the deal.
Sonny says he believes that Michael is being sincere. She tells him that she has to get used to being on the outside looking in and he tries to tell her that it won't be like that because they will be together. She's unconvinced but then shocked when he tells her she will be part of everything if she marries him.
Joss confronts Michael about not using the evidence Dex collected for him. She tells him that he's risking Dex's life by going back on their deal. Michael tells her about his offer to set Dex up somewhere else with a new life but Joss makes it clear she's not going to let that happen. She tells Michael that Dex is staying and he has to do the right thing and protect him.
Michael gets angry at her for talking Dex into staying and tells her that she is putting him in danger by doing that. Joss tells him that they want to be together and that isn't changing. Michael explains to her about his promise to Willow and Joss understands his dilemma but says there has to be a way.
Michael questions if Joss and Dex can really have a long-term relationship and tells her that the kindest thing she can do for Dex is to let him go. He tells her he isn't turning Sonny in. Joss says she will find a way out for her and Dex and leaves as Michael watches her in concern.
Sasha questions Cody about what happened at the TV studio and he confesses to her what he did. He tells her that he didn't go through on his streaking threat because he could see she had it covered. She thanks him for his help and they talk about how their friendship started and what went wrong. Sasha thinks he was set up but doesn't think it was Gladys who did it. Cody disagrees with her and tells her that he's happy she knows he's not a thief but hopes someday she'll see the truth about Gladys before he leaves.
Gladys goes to the Savoy to see Selina Wu and tells her that she doesn't have the money but she does have information for her. She tells her about the money she saw Frank give Dex and tells her that it wasn't normal pay, something big had to have gone down. Selina knocks a little money off of her debt and gives her time to pay but adds interest building every week until it does.
After Wu leaves Gladys transfers money out of Sasha's account to use toward her debt. As soon as it's done she gets a call from Sasha telling her that she set up an appointment with her doctor to try to get the guardianship lifted. In the hall, Selina tells her henchman that she is hoping she can use Gladys as leverage against Sonny.
Finn and Gregory are meeting for dinner at the MetroCourt when Tracy shows up. Finn greets her happily and when Chase steps off of the elevator she tells them he is meeting him for dinner. Tracy and Chase go to their own table and she proceeds to rip into him for hurting Brook Lynn. He tries to defend himself but she continues to berate him for not forgiving Brook Lynn after everything she did for him.
Gregory tells Finn that he got them all tickets to go to Disney the following week. He tells him that he wants to enjoy his time with them and not have regrets later on when its too late. Finn says that he understands but that Violet has school, he has patients, and Chase just got his job back so they can't go that soon.
Finn and Gregory are distracted by Tracy eviscerating Chase at the next table and when Finn steps away to take a call Gregory goes over to them. He rips into Tracy for talking down to his son and sings his praises to her. Finn interrupts and pulls Tracy aside. She tells him that she respects him but will not stay quiet about Chase when it comes to her granddaughter. Chase tells Gregory that he didn't have to do that but Gregory insists that he did, as his father.
Drew takes Carly to the MetroCourt so they can spend some time together and she can still be close to the hospital in case she's needed. They talk about the SEC case against them and Carly's worried that they won't be able to beat it. Drew suggests that she should testify against him to save herself but she refuses. He says that he can't turn on her either. Drew says they need to find leverage against Ned to get him to use his connections and influence to get the case against them dropped.
Carly insists that anything they do can't hurt Olivia. They decide to blackmail Ned with information on someone he cares about. They both immediately rule out Brook Lynn because they both adore her and that leaves only one more person - Tracy. They think she is the perfect person to use because there is so much dirt they can dig up on her. They happily agree that they have a plan!
