General Hospital Episode Recap, Cast List, and Spoilers for May 24, 2023:
Spoilers for General Hospital on May 24, 2023: Ava offers congratulations; Portia and Jordan clear the air; TJ presses Molly; Curtis and Drew catch up; and Diane warns Carly.
General Hospital Episode Recap May 24, 2023:
Molly is getting ready for work when TJ wakes up and suggests she should take the day off of work. She pushes back against that idea because she wants the distraction of work. He tries to get her to open up about how she is feeling but she is resistant to his efforts. TJ gently questions her about the symptoms she has had long term and asks her why she never had it checked out before.
Molly thinks he is blaming her and lashes out at him. TJ tries to tell her that he doesn't blame her and tries to comfort and reassure her that they are in this together but Molly is not ready to hear it and leaves for work before he can stop her. When TJ tries to call her later, Molly doesn't answer and lets his call go to voicemail.
Sam arrives at Alexis's house to talk about Kristina but Alexis thinks she is there about Molly. Sam is surprised to hear that Molly is having a problem but remembers her conversation with TJ at the wedding. She questions her mother but Alexis tells her that Molly will open up to her when she's ready to. Sam turns the conversation to her concerns about Kristina but they are interrupted by Kristina showing up.
Kristina is eager to show Sam and Alexis the plans for her new youth center. Sam gently tries to steer her to a more realistic path but Kristina ignores her suggestions. Sam pushes harder and tries to get Alexis to chime in but Alexis declines, saying she has faith in Kristina. Kristina explodes on her sister and what she thinks is a lack of faith. Sam shoots back that Kristina never follows through on anything.
Their argument is interrupted when Kristina gets a phone call from her contractor. She leaves to take the call and Sam blasts Alexis for not getting her back. Alexis explains that she is trying to get Kristina to not shut her out and she knows that she won't listen to her anyway so all she can do is be supportive and hope for the best. Sam understands her position and says she hopes it will all turn out ok as well but she is still concerned.
Sonny and Nina are enjoying their first morning as an engaged couple and talking about how everyone will react. Sonny says he doesn't care what anyone thinks. Ava arrives to drop off Avery and he asks Nina to keep their engagement quiet until he can spread the news himself. She agrees and turns her ring around before they come in.
Avery is excited to see Nina and Nina tells her about the plans she made for them. She holds Avery's hand and Avery notices the turned-around ring and asks about it. Ava is surprised too. Sonny explains to Avery that he and Nina are engaged and she asks if she can be the flower girl. After she goes to play in her room Sonny says that he has to go and asks Nina if she is ok staying with Avery. Ava volunteers to stay with them and Sonny leaves.
After he is gone Nina presses Ava to tell her what she is really thinking about their engagement and Ava reiterates everything she told her before. She is convinced that if Sonny finds out that Nina is the one who turned in Carly and Drew to the SEC he will end things. Nina is frustrated because she can't go back and change things but is determined to have a life with Sonny. She tells Ava that it's time to take the gloves off.
Drew sees Curtis working out at the boxing gym and approaches him. Curtis apologizes for all the things he had said about Carly and Drew tells him he doesn't blame him because he didn't know they were together. He tells Curtis about the SEC case and his determination to protect Carly. Curtis offers his help with anything Drew needs and Drew tells him about his plan to find information on Tracy but tells Curtis that he doesn't want to drag him into it.
Drew asks him about how things are with Portia and is surprised when Curtis tells him that nothing has been resolved. He is even more surprised when Curtis confides in him that he's questioning if he did the right then when he divorced Jordan! He tells him that they've been spending a lot of time together and that his feelings are very confused. Drew advises him to talk to Portia before making any decisions.
Portia sees Jordan at the hospital and tells her that they need to talk. Jordan suggests that they go somewhere to speak privately but Portia tells her that there is no need. She tells her that she just wants to thank her for everything she did to try to get Trina home and apologizes for not realizing what an advocate Jordan was for her daughter.
Portia confides in Jordan that she wants to fix things with Curtis but doesn't know how to. Jordan is uncomfortable and Portia apologizes for putting her on the spot. She tells Jordan she knows she was wrong when she accused her of still having feelings for Curtis and wanting him back.
Diane goes to Carly's house to discuss her case and is unhappy when Carly tells her about Sonny's engagement. She asks Carly how she feels about it and Carly tells her that she doesn't care that Sonny is getting married again but she does care that he's marrying Nina when she has hurt her family so much and this will bring her closer to them.
They turn their conversation to her case with the SEC and Diane has her go over everything that happened. Carly tells her that whole story and Diane tells her that she only has two options and she's not going to like them. She can either turn on Drew or she can turn on Sonny and make a deal for herself.
Carly refuses to do either of those things and tells Diane that she was the one who broke the law and if she has to be punished for it then that is how it goes. Diane tells her that they will try to figure something else out and leaves. After she leaves Sonny comes over.
