General Hospital recap for May 8, 2023:

On General Hospital for May 8, 2023: Dex steals time with Josslyn; Sonny enlists Diane's help; Carly has a Frank talk with Dante; A body is recovered; and Willow gives Michael food for thought.

Sonny questions Diane about the case against Carly and she wants to know why he cares. He tells her that he will always look out for Carly because she is Donna's mother and Diane commends him for not using this as an opportunity to get sole custody of Donna and raise her with Nina. Sonny tells her that will never happen and wants to help with Carly's case.

Diane tells him that she can only speak in hypotheticals because he and Carly are no longer married so they break it down that way. Sonny wants to use his power and influence to make the case go away but Diane tells him that it's too late for that. She feels the SEC has a strong case but also thinks that Carly is not their target, Drew is. They wonder if there is a deal to be made for Carly if she's willing to turn on Drew.

Carly and Dante talk about Sonny sending the SEC looking in the wrong direction for Drew and talk about the case against her. Dante thinks it must be strong for them to be bringing her in for questioning. They discuss her cool but civil relationship with Sonny and she asks him for any legal help he can give her. He promises to do anything he can.

Nina asks Sam to tell her about Willow's wedding and Sam obliges. Sam tells her that it was perfect until the SEC came looking for Carly and that Willow was very upset. Sam says that whoever tipped them off is heartless while Nina tries to hide her guilt as she remembers calling Martin. Sam tells Nina that Carly and Willow are close on their own aside from Michael.

Nina replies that she is Willow's mother and Sam reminds her that it doesn't automatically bond them. She tells Nina about the start of her relationship with Alexis and that it took them time to get to where they are now. Nina worries that they won't get that time and Sam suggests that Nina ask Carly for help with that.

Dante is on the phone trying to get information for Carly when he runs into Sam at the hospital. As they kiss her tells her that he is going to try to help Carly and she thinks that is wonderful. Carly is heading to the elevator when she runs into Nina and eyes her uneasily.

Michael and Willow discuss the honeymoon that they want to take in Paris. Michael takes out his phone to look up possible places for them to stay and Willow asks if he still has the video of Sonny. He confirms that he does and she tells him he should delete it. He bristles against the suggestion but she pushes, not because she thinks Sonny is innocent or shouldn't be punished but because she thinks it will hurt Sonny's other kids and Michael's relationships with them. The nurse comes in and tells them that Drew and Liesl have landed in Port Charles and are on their way to the hospital so it's time to get Willow ready for her transplant.

Joss goes to Dex's apartment and hugs him sadly, telling him that Trina called and told her that Spencer is missing. He brings her inside and snuggles her into a blanket on the couch before making her a hot beverage. Once he is done she tells him about the explosion on the Haunted Star and the history of her friendship with Spencer. He tries to comfort her but she's scared that Spencer could be dead.

In Greenland, Trina waits for word about Spencer with Ace. An agent tells her and Valentin that a body has been recovered but when they go to identify it, Trina is relieved to discover that it's not Spencer, it's Victor! She goes back to waiting with Ace while Valentin has a moment alone with his father to vent his anger at him and say a final goodbye.

Trina talks to Ace about his big brother and remembers moments from their relationship. When Valentin gets back she tells him that she knows Spencer is still alive and that she doesn't want to leave until they find him. Valentin tells her that the WSB will keep searching but that they have to get Ace back to his mother. Trina reluctantly leaves but when she is walking sadly to the plane with Valentin, Ace, and Laura, she sees Spencer approach them and happily runs into his arms!
