Performer of the Week




Jada Hunter, played by Elia Cantu, had quite an emotional week on Days of Our Lives. From realizing how deeply involved her sister Talia (Aketra Sevillian) was in Colin’s (Jasper Newman) plot to terrorize Paulina (Jackée Harry) and Chanel (Raven Bowens)to begging her sister to stop wrestling Colin for the gun and get out of the line of fire so she could do her job to then watching in helpless horror as that same sister went flying off the roof of the Salem Inn…And that was just Monday!



Tuesday brought an entirely new set of emotions when she raced outside of the Salem Inn to find her sister’s motionless body under the awning that she had fallen through. Jada’s heartbroken sobs ripped through us as she held her sister’s hand and rocked back and forth begging her to tell her why she had gone after Colin herself while Talia remained as still as death. Even if you hated Talia for everything she had done to Chanel and Paulina you were hoping she’d pull through for Jada’s sake.




She was so happy and relieved that her sister was alive, but that relief turned to disbelief when her sister expressed concern for Colin of all people! Even after everything he had done Talia still tried to defend him and Jada couldn’t hold her anger in any longer. Jada’s barely controlled rage when she went to Colin’s room to arrest him was a thing to see and a shiver went down all of our spines when she faced down his sister Sloan (Jessica Serfaty), daring her to get in her way, without even saying a word. Her anger was an energy that surrounded her and even the normally fearless Sloan backed off when she saw it coming her way.




Just when Jada thought she could finally take a breath and let her guard down, another hit came her way when she was confronted by Chanel about why her sister hadn’t been arrested yet. Her boss, and object her affections, Rafe (Galen Gering), hated to be the one to tell her that her sister had to be arrested too and tried to get her to go home and get some rest, but Jada refused, her emotional guard back up as she told him she was still on duty and had another arrest to make. She made her way to her sister’s room, and you could see it was taking everything in her to hold it together and make it through telling her sister she had to arrest her and reading Talia her rights, emotion heavy in her voice as she did it.






Elia Cantu has turned in some pretty great performances in her 10 months on the show but this week she really blew us away. Nothing was over or underplayed. She went through the spectrum of everything Jada was experiencing and shared every drop of it with us. I even teared up rewatching it for a second time and that is a very rare thing for me after watching soaps for many decades. All of that is why Elia Cantu is our Performer of the Week. Congratulations Elia!



Days of Our Lives

Freedom is the word! Dimitri worked out an immunity deal and got one for Megan and Kristen as well. Megan's first stop was the DiMera mansion where she went to reclaim her birthright meanwhile Kirsten paid Brady and Marlena a visit. Stefan and Gabi celebrated their impending nuptials as she finally got her divorce. Nicole and Sloan conspired. Colin and Talia went over the roof after the rooftop drama heated up. Dimitri and Chad connected. Anna begged Tony not to reveal Nicole's secret. Marlena shared a moment with her two sons. Harris paid Shawn a visit and informed him of Megan's release. Jada arrested both Talia and Colin. 


General Hospital


Carly and Drew worried about their SEC troubles. Chase did a big romantic gesture for Brook Lynn with the help of Finn. Sam and Kristina didn't agree on things. Molly struggled to deal with her new diagnosis. Nina accepted Sonny's marriage proposal. Sonny made an offer to sacrifice himself to save Carly and Drew. Jordan and Curtis shared a moment. He later decided to move back in with Portia. Anna sought answers from Robert. Nina and Diane clashed. 


The Bold and the Beautiful

Hope dealt with a whirlwind of emotions. Wyatt encouraged Liam to do more in his relationship with Hope. Bill told Liam to keep an eye on Thomas. Thomas told Taylor about Brooke's talk with Hope. Taylor then confronted Brooke and wanted to hear her true feelings regarding her son. Steffy dropped a bomb on Liam. He then went home and decided to confront Hope about her true feelings towards Thomas. 


The Young and the Restless

Phyllis made a bold move. She reunited with Summer and they made a pact. Chance went digging for evidence in a dumpster. He uncovered evidence proving that Phyllis is alive and shared the news with Christine. Sharon received mysterious gifts leaving her worried. She confided in Nick. Sally and Chloe landed a contract with Devon and Lily. Ashley taunted Jack and Diane with some engagement news. Tucker wonders if she truly loves him. Nate and Audra plotted to win. Victoria's relationship with Nate became more public. Lucy returned to town and had a chat with Johnny and Connor. Lily, Daniel, Chelsea and Billy had dinner together. Billy told Jack that Ashley is planning a coup. Jack confronted Ashley and things didn't end well.
