Performer of the Week
Daniel (Michael Graziadei) had the “mother” of all decisions to make this week on The Young and the Restless. Should he reveal the truth about his mother being alive and risk her being sent to prison for killing a man in self-defense or should he stay quiet but watch an innocent woman spend her life in prison for a murder that never happened? Further complicating matters is his sister, Summer (Allison Lanier). She’s firmly in the keep silent camp and she was willing to go to battle with her brother to make sure he kept quiet. And then came the cherry on top for poor Daniel - a phone call from his “dead’ mom. He chastised her for putting Summer in this position and begged her to come forward so they could face everything together as a family, but he was met with nothing but silence. His heartbreak and frustration over the entire situation were evident. Daniel certainly went through it this week and in the end, he decided to do what he knew from the start was the right thing and came clean about his mother being alive while also trying to protect his sister. Whether Daniel can keep all the balls in the air remains to be seen but watching Graziadei play all these beats keeps us riveted. He showed us everything Daniel was going through, sometimes without saying a word. The scene of him on the phone with nothing but dead silence on the other end was such beautiful acting and Michael sold Daniel’s struggle perfectly all week long. One of the best parts for me was the subtle change once Daniel had made the decision to tell the truth and it seemed like some of the weight he had been carrying was lifted. It wasn’t a major swing in demeanor, and it shouldn’t have been because there is still a lot weighing on him about what comes next. But the secret part was heavy and watching Daniel’s portrayer put that down showcased one of the differences between good acting and great acting and that is why we have named Michael Graziadei our Performer of the Week! Congratulations Michael!
Days of Our Lives
Things heated up around town. Nicole learned that she is pregnant but doesn't know who the father of her baby is. Steve, Harris and Chad worked together to get a location on Kate and they did. They went to the fishing boat where Kate was being held by Dimitri. Colin sent Paulina another threatening text and Sloan was being blamed for it. Upon overhearing some information, Sloan went and confronted her brother. Talia made some progress with Chanel. Tripp begged Wendy to stay in Seattle with him but she left to return to Salem. Gabi and Stefan played games with EJ. Eric showed concern for Nicole after overhearing her on a call. John brought out his queen Marlena to celebrate her long career.
General Hospital
Drew Cain finally returned to Port Charles and after being brought in by the SEC, he went and punched Ned in the face accusing him of being the one to call the SEC. Nina begged Carly for help. When Obrecht returned, Willow did her transplant. She also asked Michael to delete the incriminating evidence he had on Sonny. Michael informed Dex that he was doing as Willow asked and suggested that Dex leave town. Maxie asked Sasha for a big favor. Cody sought out Selina Wu's help. Chase returned to work at the PCPD. Diane told Robert he needs to make a choice. Trina was reunited with her parents and she made a decision to get a paternity test done. Esme rushed to the hospital to see her son. The Bold and the Beautiful
Repeat! Repeat! Repeat! Hope struggled with her attraction for Thomas. She promised Steffy that what she saw was nothing. Finn and Steffy tried to get it on in the office but were interrupted several times. Liam grew concerned when he learned that Thomas and Hope were traveling alone together on business. He became more concerned when he learned that their flight back into town was delayed.
The Young and the Restless
Daniel finally told the truth about Phyllis. Well, his version of it. An argument ensued at the Abbott estate. Sally decided she wanted to take Adam up on his job offer and told Nick about it. Unfortunately, Chloe wasn't willing to join her. Connor lashed out during a date with Billy, Chelsea and Johnny. Tucker made Diane a tempting proposal. Nick confronted his father and then his brother about their offers for Sally. Victoria returned to work and told her about what happened between her and Nate. Elena packed her bags and moved out. Devon made a big life change, changing his last name to Winters in order to honor Neil. Shemar Moore and Chene Lawson both return for the Neil party.
