The Young and the Restless recap for May 5, 2023:
In today's episode of The Young and the Restless: Victor and Nikki join Devon and Lily to honor Neil’s memory, Abby questions Ashley about Tucker, and a surprise visitor returns to Genoa City.
When Lily enters the Jazz Lounge, she stares at the pictures of Neil hanging on the wall. She approaches to have a look at the collection of family pictures underneath it. Daniel appears. Because of what happened to his mother there, she advises him that he shouldn't be there. He reassures her that he can handle it. Additionally, since he missed Neil's burial, he also wishes to pay tribute to Neil.
Abby informs Devon that the celebration for Neil will be amazing. She has ensured that it would be very spectacular. She questions whether he is prepared to remember his father's passing. He is and he tells her that Tucker came by with the suggestion of naming a jazz festival in Neil's honor. She is taken aback to learn that he invited Tucker to the gathering. He informs her that Tucker has moved in with her mother.
At Society, the big surprise for the evening is planned, Tucker says to Ashley. She hopes everything goes according to plan so Devon can focus on reconnecting. She applauds Tucker for making an effort to make this happen. He informs her that he told Devon about moving in with her. Abby texts her mom to schedule a meeting. They presume she is aware of them living together.
When Ashley arrives at the penthouse, her daughter questions her about what she might have been "possibly" considering when she moved Tucker in. He was serious about leaving town, and according to her mother, she wasn't prepared to see him leave. This, in Abby's opinion, is absurd and pitiful. Ashley cautions her to control her language. Tucker tries to act morally, yet he frequently fails, Abby points out. This, in Abby's opinion, is retaliation against Jack. That wasn't the main cause, according to her mother. Abby thinks she will regret this in a lot of ways, but she won't let it interfere with their relationship because it's her life.
Devon joins Lily at the Jazz Lounge. They discuss the changes in their life. He claims there was a lot he wanted to say to their father but couldn't. She is certain that he is proudly gazing down at them. As the other guests start to arrive, Mariah shows up. She inquires with Daniel if it's odd to see her and if he thinks about Cassie. He doesn't find it particularly odd. Just some getting used to is required. He departs to bring Lily some wine. Sharon arrives and explains that Moses and Faith are unable to attend due to exams.
All of the images of Neil are examined by Victor and Nikki. Devon expresses gratitude for their presence and contribution to the lounge. Devon welcomes Abby and informs her of Jack's cancellation. They discuss how her mother's situation is going. The guests talk about how Dru and Neil left too soon. Sharon explains to Lily that it's understandable how Devon and she came to be role models for everyone. While Tucker and Ashley arrive, Lily and Devon start the celebration. The siblings discuss how crucial it is to acknowledge what their father accomplished. Their jaws drop when Harmony “Yolanda” (played by Chene Lawson) walks in.
At Crimson Lights, Adam and Chelsea have a meeting. He informs her that he is having a girl. She rejoices for him. Adam believes it is time for them to inform Connor of the baby. She eventually agrees. They strategize how to tell him. Adam recommends that they go over how wonderful of a big brother Connor can be. She continues by saying that they must assure him that they still adore him. They might as well tell him right away because the youngster is on his way back from soccer. They are all in this together, the whole extended family. When Connor arrives, his parents describe how they are expanding their family. Connor seems perplexed. His father reveals that he is Sally's baby's father. He will thus be having a baby sister. They remind him that families exist in all different forms and that everything will work out. Connor queries his mother about her opinion. She notes that she is doing okay.
Sally is astonished when her baby kicks when she is in her room at the GCAC. She recalls Victor's offer to cover the costs of her starting a business somewhere as long as she leaves the child behind. When Nick arrives, he inquires about his father's meeting with her. She is astonished he didn't barge into Society. Initially cordial, he gradually revealed his true intentions. She notes that Victor will go to any lengths to keep her away from his family. He made it plain that unlike her, the kid will never experience loneliness. He promised to finance her if she left the kid with the Newmans after apologizing for blowing her contract with Jill. This, in his opinion, is classic Victor. She believes his father is unwilling to get to know her in her true self. She obviously doesn't deserve to be included in the family, according to him. She shouldn't have to put up with this disrespect, according to Nick. She is safe with him and Adam. She remarks that having him around makes things better as they get into bed.
