Days of Our Lives Episode Recap for June 7, 2023: Tripp Ups His Game
Chanel is trying to comfort a distraught Paulina who is still in the hospital for hypertension. Julie arrives for a visit and Chanel asks her to stay with Paulina while she goes to the Pub to get them burgers. After she's gone Paulina and Julie talk about the situation with Abe. Paulina is convinced that it's her fault but Julie tells her that it isn't. Julie calms her down by talking to her about how much Abe loves her and their upcoming anniversary.
Rafe and Jada are at the Salem PD, working on the case and trying to find Colin and Abe. They go over everything again and try to find something they might have missed. Jada suggests that they get in touch with Nurse Whitley who was working on Abe's floor when he went missing. Rafe calls the hospital and after a little wrangling manages to get her contact information. He tries to call her but gets her voicemail. Jada suggests that they pay her a visit instead of waiting for her to call them back.
Abe is still confused and feels that there is something wrong because he still doesn't remember anything. Whitley tries to assuage his concerns and goes to make him dinner. While she is in the kitchen Abe turns the TV on and hears a news report about Colin Bedford's escape. Whitley comes out of the kitchen and turns the TV off before Abe can hear too much and tells him that it's better for him to not remember his attack.
Whitley takes the remote with her when she gets back to cooking. Abe is unimpressed when she brings him a microwave meal but she tells him that she's been too busy to grocery shop since he was attacked. She tells him that she is going to get the bed ready for them but Abe tells her that he isn't comfortable sleeping with her when he doesn't remember her or their life together. He is grateful when Whitley offers to make up the fold-out couch for him.
Johnny asks Wendy to have dinner with him and offers to bring over some take-out so they can avoid Leo. They make a date and he goes to the Pub to pick up their food. While there he runs into Chanel who is getting food for Paulina. Upstairs Colin tells Talia that he is there for revenge on her for her betrayal. Wendy is surprised when Tripp gets home from Seatle.
Tripp offers to make them dinner but Wendy tells him that she has dinner plans with Johnny. Tripp understands but confidently tells her that he knows she will choose him in the end. Wendy is impressed with his assertiveness. Chanel gets a notification about Talia getting out on bail and wants to go confront her but Johnny tries to talk her out of it. Upstairs Talia calms Colin down by convincing him that she was trying to save him from a life in jail and didn't mean for them to go off the roof.
Colin wants Talia to leave town with him and she tries to delay by telling him she needs to pack a bag. When Chanel bangs on the door demanding to talk to her, Talia convinces Colin to let her talk to Chanel and get her to go away so they can leave. He agrees and hides in the closet. Talia opens the door and Chanel barges into the room. She yells at Talia for everything she did and Talia argues back at her for Colin's benefit.
Chanel wants to know where Colin and Abe are but Talia tells her that she doesn't know and tells Chanel she has to leave. She grabs her arm and pulls her towards the door. Before Chanel leaves Talia gives her Office Henshaws badge and whispers "Help me" before closing the door. Downstairs, Chanel shows the badge to Johnny and they figure out Colin must be there and call Rafe.
After Chanel is gone Talia tells Colin they should leave now. He questions her about the bag she wanted to pack but she tells him she changed her mind. Colin notices the badge is missing and gets angry, grabbing her arm and demanding to know if she gave it to Chanel. Wendy calls Johnny to find out where he is and he tells her that he is with Chanel. Before he can explain Rafe and Jada get to the Pub and he tells Wendy he has to go and hangs up.
Wendy is disappointed and tells Tripp that Johnny isn't coming because he is with Chanel. She tells him that she wants to have dinner with him. Chanel gives the badge to Rafe and he and Jada go upstairs, guns drawn. They bust into the room and Colin puts his gun to Talia's head. They convince him to surrender and he lets her go and drops the gun. Talia rushes into her sister's arms and Rafe places Colin under arrest.
