Spoilers for General Hospital on June 27, 2023: Nina’s relief is short-lived. Laura lays down the law. Ava and Austin are rattled. Trina opens up to Josslyn. Lucy defends Martin.
General Hospital Episode Recap June 27, 2023: Dex Foils Nina's Scheme
In Austin's office, he and Ava try to come up with ways to get Pilar fired but Ava is still very reluctant. Austin warns her that Mason is very impatient and could go after Avery. Mason shows up and pushes for information and tells them time is running out. He shows Ava a baggie of hairs he got off of Nikolas that belongs to her and tells her that he has more. Austin tells him that they have a plan and asks for some time. Mason tells them to get the information quickly and leaves to take a phone call. Austin suggests they plant drugs on Pilar but Ava says no, still struggling with the idea of setting Pilar up to get fired.
Valentin rushes into Anna's house frantically and asks if she is ok. She tells him that she is fine and is confused why he would think otherwise until he brings her outside and shows her that someone spraypainted 'Murderer' on her front doors. Anna is unconcerned and thinks it was kids but Valentin wants to report it to the police.
Anna tells him no and starts to clean the paint off her doors. Valentin is worried about her and tells her that he is not going to Chechnya with Laura because she needs him more. Anna insists that he has to go to help keep them safe but he is too worried about Anna. They talk about loving each other and needing each other and share a tender moment sitting on her stairs. Valentin finally agrees to go with Laura and promises that he will be back soon.
Chase and Brook Lynn finish a run and are talking on the patio at the Quartermaine mansion while Tracy and Olivia talk about the situation with Ned in the kitchen. Olivia leaves and Brook Lynn and Chase go inside. Tracy tells them that Olivia went to see Ned and berates Brook Lynn for not going to work. Chase defends her and Brook Lynn cuts Tracy off when she is talking about Chase getting his job back. Tracy steps out to take a call and Chase tells Brook Lynn that Nina saw Ned's accident at the pool.
Brook Lynn doesn't understand why Nina didn't come forward and she and Chase agree that it's suspicious. On the patio, Tracy is arguing with someone and tells them that they are partners and not her boss. She promises to get the information they need about the Deceptor.
Laura scolds Spencer and Esme for not trusting each other to care for Ace individually and tells them that she expects them to work it out while she is gone. She also informs them that they have backup help. Martin and Lucy arrive and tell them that they agreed to look out for them on Laura's behalf and that they can call if they need anything. Lucy tries to sing Martin's praises regarding his help with the Deceptor but he cuts her off.
Martin tries to talk Laura out of going because of the danger but she is determined to find Nikolas. After Martin and Lucy leave, Laura talks to Spencer and tells him that Esme is a package deal with Ace and he has to accept that. He thinks about the evidence Victor left and promises his grandmother that he will do his best to be civil to her. Laura asks Esme to let Spencer help her and she agrees to try.
Dex and Joss are kissing at the pool when Trina comes over with their drinks. They tell her about when they first met and then Dex leaves to go to work. Trina tells Joss about the evidence Victor left and Joss thinks they should use it. Trina argues against it and tells her that Spencer destroyed it so it doesn't matter anymore. Joss is suspicious about that but covers when Trina asks her.
Lucy wants to know why Martin doesn't want credit for helping with the Deceptor and he tries to put her off by telling her it wouldn't be good for her company if people knew she didn't develop it herself. Lucy thinks there is more to it and excuses herself to make a call. She calls someone and tells them that she needs their help figuring out what is going on with Martin.
Sonny and Nina talk about Ned spending the night until he comes out and thanks them for letting him stay over. Olivia shows up to bring him a snack he likes and some clothes. She also brought a photo album and asks him to look at it to see if he can remember anything. He looks through the photos but only recognizes himself and his guitar. He sees a picture of him and Lois and Sonny tells him that was his manager and she is a friend of his.
Olivia is upset that he can't remember them and Ned leaves to not upset her anymore. Nina follows him out while Sonny comforts Olivia. Nina subtly tries to get Ned to want to leave town by talking about it being freeing. Olivia comes out and tells him that she is going home but Sonny has her number if he needs to talk to her.
When Olivia gets home she tells Tracy and Brook Lynn that they need a new strategy to get through to Ned because hers didn't work. Tracy is happy when Brook Lynn says she is going to work. Nina rushes into Sonny's penthouse frantically and lies, telling him that she tried to stop Ned from leaving but couldn't and that he was gone. A few minutes later Dex comes in, with Ned. Nina is shocked to see that Dex stopped him from leaving.
