Spoilers for General Hospital on June 30, 2023: Curtis puts two and two together. Zeke seeks out Jordan. Sasha is candid with Sonny. Finn is caught off-guard. Trina presses Portia.
General Hospital Episode Recap June 30, 2023: Ava and Austin Make Love
Spencer calls Trina but gets her voicemail. He leaves a message requesting that she calls him back. Esme enters, claiming she brought him an ice pack but he yells at her to get out. She speculates that he may have internal bleeding and inquires as to what happened to him. He claims he got into a fight, but he's not sure why she cares. Esme storms out. Esme returns and reads from her phone about issues with a broken rib. Esme wants to call a doctor but he advises her not to. She says she just doesn't want to have to take him to the hospital in the middle of the night.
Spencer puts on his shirt and accepts the ice pack from her. She agrees he's been dependable lately, up until tonight, and inquires as to what happened. He tells her about his dispute with Dex and expresses his reluctance to confide in her. Esme believes that's stupid because she knows more than he does. She is always anxious, with others watching her, criticizing her, and believing she has reverted to her former self when all she is trying to do is the right thing. Spencer believes they are both striving to be better people, but acknowledges he hasn't given her much of an opportunity. She asks him about their past. What were they like as a couple. Spencer tells her and notes that she was his first love but she used him. She brings up the parenting class, and he agrees to go with her. She thanks him and leaves.
Before Liz can leave Finn's place, Violet rushes out and informs her father that Aunt Elizabeth can't leave yet! Violet reveals she had a frightening dream and woke up unable to find them, as well as the black shadow. She is terrified of going back to sleep. Finn assures Violet that he will be there for her if she needs him. Violet requests that Aunt Elizabeth stay, but he insists she must return home to her children. Liz excuses herself immediately, and Violet informs her father that she enjoys having her aunt around. Finn replies he does, but she has her own children and a house. Violet proposes that Liz and the boys come here or they could go there. Liz arrives with a magical sleepy milk drink for Violet, who remarks that it tastes better than her father's. When Violet falls back asleep, Finn thanks Liz for her help. She leaves.
Sonny and Sasha discuss her future. Sasha says that he knows she's ready to quit her guardianship with Gladys. She believes the moment has come, but Sonny believes Gladys is not prepared. Sasha admits that some days she feels strong, confident, and healthy, while other days she feels odd as if she's pretending to be strong. Sonny understands. Sasha says it's the days when the darkness returns that bother her, and it happens for no apparent reason. She is bombarded with waves of melancholy, reminders that her kid is no longer with her, and those sensations frighten her. However, she is confident that she is ready to be making her own decisions again.
Trina listens to the voicemail from Spencer. Portia arrives and Trina confronts her mother about forgiving Curtis for the kiss so easily. Portia doesn't want Trina to be concerned about her affairs right now. They later talk about Spencer as Trina informs her mother about him having a fight with Dex. Trina really wants to be with Spencer but doesn't want Esme to be a part of their life.
Zeke calls Jordan asking if she's free tonight. She is but she won't be spending it with him. Curtis enters her office and confronts her about telling Portia about the kiss. She says it wasn't her. It was Zeke. She had no idea who he was when they first met and she told him about the kiss without calling any names. He put two and two together once Portia introduced him to her. Zeke visits Jordan. Things don't go too well since Curtis is there. Curtis warns Zeke to think twice before interfering in his business again. As Curtis leaves, Zeke wants to talk with Jordan but she doesn't think there is anything to talk about. He leaves as well.
Ava pushes Austin away when he kisses her. She grabs him and kisses him and then they hit the sheets. After sex, Ava makes the bed while Austin is in it. She isn't too pleasant to him. In fact, she reminds him that if it wasn't for what happened with Nikolas they wouldn't have become this close. She shows him door not much long after.
