The Young and the Restless recap for June 14, 2023:
Today on The Young and the Restless, Victor points Nick in the right direction, Audra sets her sights on Kyle, and Summer gives Diane a reality check.
Sharon is frantic. She tells Nick about Cameron's desire to meet with her alone. Nick offers to go in her place, but she insists on going in order to rescue their kid. Nick wants to go to the motel and rip Cameron apart with his bare hands, but Sharon discourages him and asks that they think things through before putting Faith at more risk. Victor stops by. Nick informs Victor that he requires his assistance since Cameron has Faith. Nick shows him a photograph of a restrained Faith Newman. Victor is perplexed as to how this happened despite the protection he had in place. Sharon is certain that she must confront Cameron alone. Nick refuses to let her go alone, and Victor agrees. They believe she should equip herself if she goes alone. Victor hires a specialist in rescue missions. As he walks away, he praises Sharon for putting her life in danger to save Faith.
Chance comes as they notify him that Cameron wants Sharon to come to the motel alone to see him. Chance delivers an update, and they wonder if Cameron is maintaining faith there. Chance decides to go check it out and recommends they not go to the motel. They decide not to take that risk when Chance goes. Nick advises Sharon to equip herself and ties a knife to her leg as a precaution. Nick walks away, instructing Sharon to meet him behind the house in 10 minutes. Cameron walks up behind her and says, "Hi Sharon, everybody's gone - it's just you and me."
Lily meets with Daniel, who is attempting to enjoy an adult beverage. She's perplexed as to why he sounded so irate over the phone. He says that he is concerned that the next time he sees his mother and sister, they may both be imprisoned. He observes that his sister will go to any extent to keep their mother out of prison, and she requested his assistance. Lily regrets that he is caught in the middle of all of this. She believes that as someone who has served time in jail, Phyllis should do the same. Lily claims that, despite the fact that her time in prison was brief, her experience there transformed her life. Daniel does not want his mother to go to prison since she may be there for a long time. Lily only wants Phyllis to see things from a different perspective.
Summer discloses to Diane that she has known her mother was alive for some time. Summer is prepared for a spanking, but Diane claims she has already forgiven her. Summer feels this is because Diane is unaware of the entire story. Diane urges her to fill her in on whatever she may be missing. Diane is not happy with Summer's actions, but she knows why she did what she did. She promises to do all in her power to get Kyle to forgive her as well. Diane blames Phyllis for her insane scheme, and Summer warns her not to turn this into an attack on her mother. Summer holds Diane responsible for bringing Stark into their lives in the first place. She storms out, promising herself that she will never forget it.
Kyle muses about his disagreement with Summer at the pub. Audra enters and inquires whether that seat is available. She introduces herself again, mentioning that they met at the gala. She brings up the reports that Phyllis is still alive. Kyle does not want to discuss the matter with complete strangers, but she suggests that he talk to a complete stranger since there would be no judgment. He has the impression that he should be cautious with her. She mentions that he has heard negative things about her, and she considers herself to be an achiever. He's curious if she's found happiness since she and Tucker parted ways. He appears to be bearing the weight of the world on his shoulders, according to her. He wishes to finish his drink as she converses with him. He wants to learn more about her and she fills him in. With all of her accomplishments, he wonders where she will go from Newman Media. She is happy with her job but will wait and see what happens in the future. The two become a little flirtatious. Kyle thanks her for making him happy and departs.
At Crimson Lights, Summer runs into Mariah. Summer thanks her for the flowers she received after her mother "died." Mariah confronts her, questioning what the heck she was thinking by keeping her mother's being alive a secret. Summer asks her what she would do if it were her mother in the circumstance. Mariah notes that if she was put in that position she could understand but she still disagrees with it. Summer requests a favor. She wishes for Mariah to persuade Kyle to forgive her. Mariah believes she should accept responsibility for what she has done. Summer realizes she made a mistake. Summer chooses to forget the favor as Mariah brings out the harsh reality. Mariah suggests that she give Kyle some time.
Summer returns home and runs into Kyle. She mentions Harrison. She claims to have been thinking a lot and has a lot of things she wants to convey. She asks if they can chat now, but Kyle declines and leaves.
