The Young and the Restless recap for June 5, 2023:
In today's episode recap of The Young and the Restless, Victor and Nikki learn shocking news, Ashley gets the upper hand against Diane, and Cameron Kirsten closes in on Sharon.
Nick and Sharon arrive at her home. He checks the locks as he walks around and urges her to close the drapes. She wants them to remain calm and sensible in order for her to avoid making the same mistakes as she did in the past. Later, she mentions Faith cuddling with Borgnine the cat. She believes it is past time for them to speak with Victor and Nikki. They discuss how the cops have been unable to locate Cameron. She is concerned that Nick may take matters into his own hands and considers it incredible that they are still here after what transpired. They need all of the help they can get.
Victor and Nikki pay them a visit and they are informed of Cameron's release from prison. They are astonished to learn about it. Nikki wants them to stay at the ranch for now, and Victor promises to do whatever he can to keep them safe. A guard later comes, and Victor places him outside the door. Nikki returns from speaking with Faith, who refuses to sleep at the main home.
Tucker and Ashley drink at Society, and he tells her to stop talking about Diane. Ashley must protect her family and the Abbott heritage, which was Jack's purpose for being until Diane hijacked his brain. Tucker questions whether she truly believes Diane is using Jack. Ashley is convinced and has spoken with the board. Tucker will assist her, but they both realize that it will take some finesse. Ashley does not believe she can fail, but she believes Diane will lose interest in Jack, leaving him sadder but wiser.
Y&R recap for June 5, 2023:
Tucker agrees to go all-in with her but advises they marry right away. He requires affirmation. She tells him that the ring did not deter him the previous time. He is aware. He acknowledges that after they're married, he'll be able to take over Jabot and throw Diane and Jack off guard.
Diane and Jack finish dancing in the GCAC lounge, and he wants to take her home. They return to their table, and she praises him for not turning his back on her. She becomes emotional as she strives to earn his trust. He kisses her hand and expresses his excitement about their future and they discuss marriage.
Kyle is astonished and enraged to see Phyllis still alive with Daniel and Summer. He confronts them, and Summer admits that she, too, is still getting accustomed to the fact that she is alive. Kyle begins yelling that she has caused everyone, including his wife, so much grief. Phyllis apologizes. Her mind races as she tells him she wants to make things right. She'll take the punishment if she clears her name first. He believes she is only concerned with saving herself.
Daniel goes outside to make sure no one else enters. Phyllis apologizes but notes that she will return to the right thing, just like his mother did. She claims she disliked his mother, who had everything she desired. She was in a position where her children didn't want anything to do with her. She claims Jeremy began whispering in her ear and she didn't initially agree to it but she caved because she wanted to hurt Diane. She believes she, like Diane, is a victim. He preyed on them both while they were weak and helpless. She reminds him of how upset he was with Diane, and how it took some time for him to forgive her. She describes his connection with Diane as wonderful, but he claims the scenario is different.
The Young and the Restless recap for June 5, 2023:
Kyle watched Summer weep herself to sleep, and he wasn't sure whether things would change. It's on Phyllis, who has miraculously emerged with tears and victimhood, and she begs Summer to risk everything for her. Kyle discusses framing his mother which he will never forgive her for. Phyllis promises to make things right. Summer implores. He says no cops for the time being and walks away.
Daniel tells his mother that he attacked Stark after he revealed they were married. He claims she was complicit in all of this. She apologizes and recognizes how fortunate she is that he is speaking to her. She says she has no idea why she does some of the things she does. She will make amends to him, but she cannot go to prison. Kyle questions Summer about how long she has known her mother is alive. She claims she has no idea what he's talking about. Diane and Jack interrupt, and Diane apologizes for celebrating when her mother is somewhere out there. She is certain that everything will work out. Ashley and Tucker arrive ready for a celebration as they announce their engagement.
At GCAC in his room, Cameron gets on his hat and a backpack and takes off. Cameron returns to his room, takes off his clothes, and places them in a black plastic bag. Nick receives a text message from his father back at the ranch. At Newman, one of his guards was discovered tied up and left in a closet, his uniform stolen. Cameron returns to GCAC and pulls the security uniform from a black plastic bag.
