Days of Our Lives Episode Recap, Cast List, and Spoilers for July 11, 2023: Rafe Suspends Shawn!
Spoilers for Days of Our Lives on July 11, 2023: Marlena puts Harris under hypnosis. Wendy laces into Li. Melinda realizes Shawn has been drinking on the job. Stefan is furious with Gabi.
Days of Our Lives Episode Recap July 11, 2023: Rafe Suspends Shawn!
Marlena hypnotizes Harris and he tells her that Li gave him his orders. Harris is frustrated that Marlena's treatment isn't working and that he still wants to kill Stefan. He wants to try the electroshock again since it worked last time. Marlena thinks that is too extreme and wants to try a new treatment first. He agrees to trust her and give it a try and this time remembers that it was actually Rolf and Megan and that they programmed him to think it was Li. Marlena shows Harris a picture of Stefan and he tells her that he no longer feels like he has to kill him. Harris tells Marlena that she did it, she deprogrammed him.
In the lobby, Rafe lays into Gabi about putting herself in danger and when Stefan gets there he does too. Rafe jumps to his sister's defense even though he agrees with Stefan that she shouldn't have risked her life as she did. Stefan and Gabi continue to fight about it when they get home. Stefan admits that he is more scared than angry because he loves Gabi so much and they make up. They make a deal to work as a team going forward. Rafe calls Gabi and tells her the news about Harris's breakthrough. Gabi tells Stefan she still thinks Li is involved and they vow to find out what really happened together.
Melinda approaches Shawn at the docks and asks why the divers are packing up. He tells her that they searched the entire river and found no sign of Megan or Rolf so he called off the search. They argue about who has the authority to do that and Melinda asks Shawn if he has been drinking after smelling alcohol on him. He denies it and she finds an empty liquor bottle that he denies is his.
Melinda tells Shawn she is going to have it dusted for prints and he comes clean but thinks it's not a big deal because he can still do his job. They argue about that and Melinda makes a dig about Bo's shooting. Shawn tells her to go to hell and storms off. Later at the Salem PD, Melinda tells Rafe he has to fire Shawn for drinking on the job.
In the interrogation room, Wendy confronts Li over trying to Stefan killed but Li denies all involvement. Wendy doesn't believe him but Li turns the tables on her and compares his situation to hers with Johnny and Tripp. He tells her that he thinks she has already made her decision but doesn't want to hurt the one she doesn't want to be with and in doing so she is hurting them all more. He encourages her to make her decision known to the men so they can all move on. She tells him to move on as well, instead of throwing his life away for a woman who doesn't want him.
Shawn asks to talk to Rafe in private but Melinda insists that he should just be fired. Rafe tells her to focus on her job and not his. Marlena calls and gives him the news about Li not being behind Harris's brainwashing and Rafe goes to the hospital to interview Harris. After he speaks to Harris, Marlena asks if Harris can go. She volunteers to vouch for Harris and Rafe agrees that he can go free. He warns Harris that he will be watching him though. After Rafe leaves Harris asks Marlena to commit him to Bayview.
Melinda goes into the interrogation room to tell Li that he is free to go. She still feels like he was involved but has no evidence to prove it but she does give him a warning that she will be watching him. In the lobby, Shawn thanks Rafe for sticking up for him and Rafe tells him that he is suspended for drinking on the job.
Johnny goes to Wendy and Tripp's apartment to see Wendy but Tripp tells him that she's not there. They each throw insults about the other's family and then stop and agree to call a truce because it is really Wendy they are fighting about. They agree to back off and let Wendy make her choice without them fighting and pushing her. It doesn't take long for them to start bickering again and Tripp is about to physically kick Johnny out when Wendy comes in and asks what is going on. Wendy tells them that she has made a decision.
