Spoilers for Days of Our Lives on July 13, 2023: Paulina’s family comforts her before Abe’s funeral. Jerry is upset to see that Whitley’s drugged Abe. John relates to Steve that he had another nightmare about Abe. Kristen admits to Lani that she knows where Rachel is.

Days of Our Lives Episode Recap July 13, 2023: Steve Wants Answers from Whitley 

At Paulina's, she is getting ready for Abe's funeral with Chanel. They talk about what Abe meant to both of them and how much he will be missed. Theo arrives and Paulina asks Chanel to go to Steve and Kayla's to pick up pictures of Abe and says that she and Theo will meet her at the church for the funeral. After Chanel leaves she confesses to Theo that she wanted to talk to him alone. They talk about his eulogy for his father and he practices it with Paulina who is touched by his words.

Steve is on the phone with Kayla when John arrives to talk to him. They have coffee and John tells him that he had the same dream about Abe again and thinks it might be more than a dream. John thinks it may be a premonition like Steve had with Kayla and Abe may actually be alive. Steve agrees with him and they start to go over the file again, focusing first on Whitley's statement. 

When Chanel arrives for the pictures she tells them that Whitley stopped by to see Paulina. She also tells them about Whitley working on Abe's campaign and being at his wedding to Paulina in the park. After she leaves John and Steve agree that it's suspicious and Steve goes to the hospital to talk to her.

Marlena finds Brady in the Square hanging up missing posters of Rachel. He admits that he doesn't think she is actually missing because Kristen has her and wants to go over and talk to her. Marlena tries to convince him that she should be the one to go talk to Kristen and he reluctantly agrees. Brady goes to the Pub and toasts Abe with John while they wait to hear from Marlena.

Lani surprises Kristen when she shows up at the DiMera mansion. The friends are happily reunited but their talk soon turns to Rachel's disappearance. Lani is convinced that Kristen knows where Rachel is and tries to talk her into doing the right thing and telling Brady. She tells Kristen that she knows she still has feelings for Brady and thinks they can work something out about Rachel. Kristen tells her the truth in a hypothetical and Lani encourages her to contact Brady.

Marlena arrives through the tunnels after Lani leaves and tells Kristen that she knows that she has Rachel. She tells Kristen that she owes her for the help she gave after Megan kidnapped and drugged her and EJ but Kristen disagrees and tells Marlena that she wants something else if she is going to tell them where Rachel is. 

Whitley drugs Abe again after he accuses her of not being his wife and tells her that he remembers the photo of the real Paulina. Jerry comes by and tells Whitley that he is feeling bad about Abe's family mourning him when he is so close by. He is also upset by Whitley drugging Abe to keep him sedated. Whitley tells him that she is leaving town with Abe and that she will give him a big bonus if he agrees to leave town too. She sets Abe up to watch more Body & Soul before she heads to the hospital and he hallucinates that he is on the show.

After Abe's funeral Paulina, Chanel and Theo head back to her apartment but Lani stays behind, telling them that she needs a moment alone and will be there soon. She sits on a bench and thinks about Jerry on the docks. At Paulina's apartment, Theo asks if she thinks Abe is in a better place and Paulina tells him that she hopes so. Jerry is packing quickly when there is a knock on his door. He opens it and sees Lani! Steve questions Whitley at the hospital and she answers his questions before telling him that she needs to go see Kayla. He asks why and she tells him that she is resigning from her job.
