Spoilers for General Hospital on July 13, 2023: TJ assists in a surgery. Chase makes an arrest. Michael makes a romantic gesture. Alexis is worried about Kristina. Cody makes an offer.

General Hospital Episode Recap July 13, 2023: Curtis Has A Decision To Make

Gladys is trying on a coat when Sam comes in with Scout. Sam questions her about her connection to Selina Wu but Gladys blows her off. Sam asks about Cody and Selina and Gladys tells her to ask Cody. Sam tries to get her to tell her why she changed her story about Cody but Gladys gets a call and has to go. Sam and Scout talk about her swim camp and missing Drew. Sam tries to cheer her up by buying her both dresses she likes.

At the Savoy, Selina is furious with Cody for blowing the game on purpose. She has Li pin him to the bar and Cody confesses that he did it to get her to fire him. He tells her that he doesn't like to do any one thing for too long and that he just wanted out. Before Li can do anything to him, Cody tells Selina about the lawsuit against the WSB and offers her a cut. They agree to terms and she lets him go. 

Cody notices a missed call from Sasha and tries to call her back in the alley but gets her voicemail. Selina overhears the message he leaves and mentions that they will both do anything for their friends. Neither of them knows that Sam is taking pictures of them together from a distance but she is startled when a hand comes down on her shoulder from behind.

Sasha is confused when Chase tells her that she is under arrest for stealing from Logans. She tells him that Deception has an agreement with them and she can take whatever she wants but he tells her that the store is pressing charges and she has to go with him. She agrees to go to the station to clear everything up but isn't happy about it. After they leave Michael calls Gladys and then he and Willow talk about how strange Sasha was acting. Michael and Wiley surprise Willow by pretending they are in France to make up for their not being able to actually go there yet. Wiley dresses up and plays accordion for them while Michael serves up a French meal. Willow is very touched.

Curtis's loved ones wait for news at GH and comfort each other while he is in surgery. Sonny and Nina are there to support them as well. Marshall asks Sonny who would do this to Curtis and Sonny tells him that he's not going to rest until he finds out. Trina is chilly so Portia offers to get her a sweater from her office. While in her office alone, Portia breaks down and remembers her fight with Curtis. She prays for him to come back to her so they can make it right. 

Trina is upset that she kept Curtis at a distance and Stella assures her that she still has time because Curtis will fight to get back to them. Portia and Stella talk to Trina and try to comfort her as they wait. Portia thanks Nina for being there with them. Stella passes the time by telling them stories from Curtis's childhood with his brother. Nina and Portia talk privately about Portia's fears for Curtis and Nina tries to be supportive.

Alexis and Kristina meet at Kelly's and discuss Curtis's shooting. Kristina asserts that she would be the perfect surrogate but agrees to wait until they ask. Alexis asks her if she would actually say yes if they asked and Kristina says yes right away. Alexis tells Kristina that she appreciates what she wants to do but she has concerns. They are talking about it when Maxie interrupts because she had heard Alexis wanted to talk to her about the Deceptor for the newspaper. 

They discuss it and when they finish Maxie is going to leave but Kristina stops her and asks about surrogacy. Maxie is surprised but tells her she needs to think about it a little first and then they can talk about it. Maxie gets a call about Sasha and has to leave quickly. Kristina leaves to go to the hospital and Alexis texts Sonny to join her for a talk about Kristina. When Sonny gets to Kelly's Alexis asks about his involvement with Kristina's foundation. He tells her that he is taking a hands-off approach but Alexis tells him that she thinks Kristina is overwhelmed. Sonny tells her that he is there for whatever she needs. Alexis tells him that Kristina needs guidance and asks him to talk to her.

Sasha tries to convince Chase that she didn't do anything wrong but he tries to get her to call a lawyer. She decides to use her one phone call to call Cody but he is busy with Selina and can't answer. When Gladys gets there Sasha tells her what happened and thinks someone is out to get her. Chase shows her the security footage which shows her stealing the clothes. Sasha doesn't remember doing it and doesn't understand what is going on.

Maxie arrives and tells her that she handled everything with the store and they agreed to drop the charges in exchange for a cross-promotion but that they only want to deal with Maxie and Lucy. Sasha is still confused but understands. Maxie assures her that everything will be fine and then Chase tells her that the charges have been dropped and Gladys takes Sasha home to rest. Chase asks Maxie to keep an eye on Sasha before she leaves.

In the OR Curtis's heart stops as TJ watches his surgery. Curtis has a vision of being in a park with his mother, Irene. He's confused but she tells him that she is with him. She asks him to take a look at her car with his brother and tries to get him to leave the park to do it but Curtis hears TJ's voice calling to him and pauses. Irene tries to convince him that the voice is Tommy's but he thinks it was someone else. 

Irene wants Curtis to come with her but he remembers about Trina and tells his mother he has a daughter. He continues to hear TJ's voice as his mother tries to convince him to stay with her. Curtis realizes that if he leaves the park he will be leaving Trina and Portia behind and makes the choice to stay. He tearfully hugs his mother and she tells him that it's time before she disappears. In the GH lobby, TJ and the surgeon come out to talk to everyone and Portia asks them if Curtis made it through the surgery.
