Spoilers for General Hospital on July 24, 2023: Dex makes a grisly discovery. Nina scores points with Willow. Drew confronts Cyrus. Sonny walks in on an argument. Carly shares big news with Josslyn.
General Hospital Episode Recap July 24, 2023: Drew Takes A Stand
At the hospital, Finn asks Liz to go on a date with him and she teases him and says she was going to ask him out. They agree on dinner at the Port Charles Grille and Liz goes to finish working. Yuri surprises Terry at work and they are happily reunited after his trip with Laura and Valentin. He gives her a key to his apartment so she can come and go even when he isn't there. She panics a little and tells him she has to check on something before rushing away.
Terry approaches Finn and asks him if he has an answer for her about the Co-Chief of Staff position. He doesn't think he's right for it but she tries to convince him otherwise. Finn agrees to think about it and then Terry goes back to Yuri and gives him her spare key so he has the same access to her apartment. He tells her that he got a concerning phone call from Valentin and that he thinks they are in danger.
Austin gets a text to meet Mason in his office and Dex follows him there. He is lurking outside when Liz sees him and gets him away. She tells him she is Cameron's mother and knows what happened with him and Joss. She also tells him that she knows he works for Sonny and doesn't want that kind of trouble around the hospital. Dex agrees to leave before she calls security. Nina and Sonny talk about Sasha and then she remembers she is supposed to be at Willow's and is late. Sonny tells her to go and assures her that they will understand. He tells her that he has to go meet Ava about the new nanny and that they will meet up later.
In Austin's office, Mason is waiting with Gordon who tells Mason about what happened with Sonny. Austin doesn't think it's a big deal but Gordon demands $100,000 or he will tell Sonny everything. Mason promises him the money and tells him to meet his associate outside. Austin assures Mason that everything is under control. Dex calls Sonny and updates him about what he saw and Sonny tells him to keep watching Austin. Dex goes out to the alley and finds Gordan's body behind a dumpster. In Austin's office, Mason tells Austin that Gordon won't be an issue. Liz and Finn meet at the Port Charle's Grille for dinner and are happy to see each other.
Betty, the new nanny comes to Windemere to meet Ava and gives her a false resume. She is very cold to Ava and tells her that she and Mason are in charge. She mentions Ava's mother and tells her that she should call her. Ava panics and calls her mother who tells her about a new man she is seeing and about to go camping with. Ava tries to warn her but her mother doesn't hear her before she hangs up. Betty tells Ava that he is just there to watch her and make sure Ava does what Mason wants. Ava tells Betty that Sonny will never be fooled by her and Betty tells Ava that it's her job to make Sonny accept her. Ava argues with her and Betty slaps her right before Sonny walks in and asks if everything is ok.
Willow doesn't understand why Nina is late for their visit with no call. Michael isn't happy but agrees to support whatever decision Willow makes. Nina arrives and starts to play with Wiley before Michael calls her over to explain why she was late. She tells them about Sasha and Michael goes outside to make a call for more information. Willow tells Nina that she knows she is trying and appreciates it as Nina flashes back to telling Martin to turn Carly and Drew in.
Joss goes to Kelly's and asks Carly if she is selling the house. Carly tells her that she just wants to see what she can get for it and hasn't made a decision yet. She tells Joss that she has a plan and that it's Kelly's. Joss doesn't understand and they sit down to talk about it. Carly tells her that Bobbie went to help with Luke's final affairs and then sold her Kelly's for a dollar. She plans to pay her more later but for now, it will help Carly get out of the financial trouble she is in. Carly tells Joss her plans to make Kelly's what it once was and how excited she is for the future.
Drew approaches Cyrus in the Pentonville library and says they didn't get to finish their earlier conversation. He asks Cyrus if he was behind Curtis's shooting but Cyrus denies involvement. Book comes into the library and starts trouble with Cyrus. He starts to toss books off of the shelves and Drew grabs him to stop him and tells him to leave. Book backs down and Cyrus thanks Drew. Drew tells him that they are not allies. Cyrus tells Drew that he needs friends and if it won't be him then he needs to find another group so he will have protection.
