Performer of the Week

 



The storyline of Abe's (James Reynolds) amnesia and kidnapping came to a head on Days of Our Lives this week, starting with Jerry's (Terrell Ransom Jr.) confession to Lani (Sal Stowers). That set off a chain of events that eventually led to Abe being rescued and his kidnapped nurse, Whitley (Kim Coles), being apprehended. Whitley had a break with reality that led to her trying to kill both her and Abe, but they were saved by the arrival of Marlena (Deidre Hall), Rafe (Galen Gering), and Jada (Elia Cantu). Everyone involved did amazing work, but Coles' portrayal of Whitley truly stood out as something very special.





Everyone knows that Kim Coles has been a brilliant comedic actress for over 30 years, but this week we had a look at her dramatic chops, and we were blown away. The way she played Whitley's breakdown and went in and out of reality and time was nothing short of amazing. Fans went from rooting for Whitley to get the punishment coming to him to hoping for a redemption arc for her after she gets the help she needs. It takes a special actress to pull that off, especially with soap fans, but Kim Coles has done it, and that is why we are naming her our Performer of the Week! Congratulations, Kim. Hopefully, we haven't seen the last of Nurse Whitley in Salem!




Days of Our Lives

Abe reunited with his family. Lani said her goodbyes. Paulina confronted Whitely and smacked her across the face; thankfully, Marlena was there to put a stop to it. EJ and Nicole had genetic testing done. Nicole learned that Sloan was having Eric's baby. Sloan pretended to be Nicole and collected their genetic test results. Gabi and Stefan's wedding day finally arrived, as did Gwen and Dimitri's. Rafe and Jada decided it was time to go public. Alex interrupted Chad and Stephanie again. He had a date with Melinda, while Li had a date with Connie.

 


General Hospital

Nina and Willow shared a tender moment. Carly told Josslyn her big news. Ava confessed to Sonny, who promised to take care of everything. Liz and Finn went on a date. Sam helped Molly out with an important chat. Dr. Montague continued to drug Sasha at Ferncliff. Laura and Valentin went on the hunt for answers. Curtis told Portia to let him go and move on; he doesn't want to see her again. Terry and Yuri exchanged keys to their place. Chase showed Brook Lynn he could break the rules.



The Bold and the Beautiful

Chaos ensued after the court hearing. Liam witnessed Sheila and Finn hugging and recorded it. He told Wyatt, who wondered if he was doing this to get Steffy back. Deacon and Sheila shared a sweet and passionate reunion. Ridge learned that Hope and Thomas slept together. He confronted Hope about her true feelings regarding his son. Finn told Li about the outcome of Sheila's case. Liam went to Steffy and showed her the evidence of Sheila in Finn's arms. Steffy and Finn's beach day took an unexpected turn. 


The Young and the Restless

Diane and Jack teamed up with Billy to trick Ashley and Tucker. Phyllis and Jack shared a tense reunion. Summer had a run-in with Kyle in the park. Nate took the big chair at Newman while Victoria and Nikki were out. Sally decided she wanted to take up Victor's offer after having a talk with Chloe first. Sharon and Chance danced to some music. Chelsea gave Summer some much-needed advice. Traci attended Jack and Diane's wedding. Kyle didn't go but spent the time with Audra instead. Billy and Jack had a public clash for Ashley and Tucker to witness. Abby offered to throw their wedding at the Chancellor estate. Victor had a talk with Adam. Victor also put Nate on notice. 


Honorary Mentions


Congrats to Donnell Turner (Curtis) and Brook Kerr (Portia) who once again tugged our hearts out. Their scenes at the hospital where Curtis caught Portia off-guard demanding that she let him go was truly heartbreaking. Congrats on getting the honorary mentions this week!
