Summer flashes back to Kyle saying he slept with Audra at the GCAC. She notices her in the dining room and approaches her, wondering if Kyle was simply a random hook-up for her or if she had her sights set on him all along. Audra thinks this is a little cheesy and advises her not to torment herself. She is technically married to Kyle, but he is an adult. Audra is snarky with her remarks. Summer mentions how this is affecting Harrison and how she needs to protect him. Audra has no desire to interfere with Summer's family and accuses her of justifying her envy through her son. Kyle appears as they continue to talk. Summer advises Audra to replace her inexpensive perfume. Kyle might be able to get her a deal at Jabot. When Summer leaves, Audra admits that Summer is having difficulty accepting the end of her marriage. He says they must both accept that they cannot preserve it. Audra inquires if he is certain. She's pleased to be working with him and having a good time, but if he has second thoughts, he should tell her.
Billy arrives at Crimson Lights and teases Chelsea. She's nervous about her new work, but her boss promises her that she'll blow everyone away. He gives her a lucky charm on her first day. He expected her to be more enthusiastic than concerned about returning to the fashion industry. This is very different from what she was used to. Billy advises her to take a break. Chelsea discusses making changes and overhauling things at Marchetti. He's certain she will do well. He assures her that she is beautiful and strong. He congratulates her once more and departs. Summer comes and tells her she thought it would be great to talk before she starts her day. Chelsea tells her how helpful Billy has been, and Summer recalls working together in the past. They must determine the best course of action for the two of them. Chelsea is aware that Kyle's situation is unpleasant and offers to listen to her. Summer describes how difficult it was for her and Kyle to be together. They were in love and happy. Diane then returned from the dead and wrecked everything.

She had no choice except to prioritize her mother in the recent situation. Chelsea understands. She points out that Kyle is already sleeping with Audra and starting a new job. He won't even try to understand why she did what she did, making her feel as if all they went through was a lie. Chelsea understands how it feels to be filled with questions after a relationship ends. But those questions are rarely addressed. You cannot make another person forgive you; you can only forgive yourself. Summer is at a loss on how to proceed. She doesn't understand Kyle's inability to recognize what he's doing to Harrison. Chelsea says she should quit tormenting herself by clinging to the past and start living in the present.
Billy arrives at the GCAC and sits at the bar with Kyle. He informs him that Jack is dissatisfied with his decision to join Newman Media. Kyle says it feels like a nice fit and that he's not attempting to retaliate against his father. Billy describes Audra as a handful. Kyle claims that they understand one another. Billy warns him that Jabot is on the verge of civil war. Kyle believes he should simply let Ashley go. Billy inquires whether he is still too hurt to give Summer another chance. Kyle declares that it is over. They can resume their friendship, but there is no room for marriage there. As Audra returns, Billy walks out. Kyle informs her that his meeting has been canceled and recommends they speak alone. They proceed upstairs.
Sharon arrives at the jazz lounge to join Adam. They are waiting for his brother. She is hoping that today will be the first meeting of Genoa City's new power triumvirate. Nick joins them. Adam explains that he has agreed to collaborate. Nick inquires of his brother whether he has informed their father of the news. Sharon is certain that the union is ideal. Nick calls it synergy. She believes it has the potential to be truly unique. Adam admires his brother for stepping away from Newman without resentment.

Victor reflects on Adam's requests regarding Adustus at the ranch. Sharon, Nick, and Adam make their way to the property. Victor believes they have agreed to his terms. Sharon claims that there is no limit to what they can accomplish as a group. Adam notes that he feels he is being controlled by his sister and father. Adam claims that his teammates have persuaded him that they can be successful. Victor hopes that their collaboration would help Adam get rid of the chip on his shoulder. They now all have something to look forward to. Adam has only one request: six months of complete freedom. This is supported by Sharon and Nick. Victor suggests three months. According to Adam, Newman Media will become obsolete. He wants it included in what they build so that they may be one big happy corporation. Victor flatly refuses. Newman Media already has a leadership structure in place. Victoria adores her people, and Audra is there. Adam says that if he wants to keep things in the family, he should eliminate redundancies across the enterprises. Victor prioritizes family above all else, yet he also seeks outside guidance on occasion. They argue about Audra and Nate's presence and their trustworthiness.
