The Young and the Restless Recap for Thursday, July 13, 2023:
Today on The Young and the Restless, Nikki interrogates Jack, Kyle asks Mariah to jump ship at Jabot, and Ashley sets boundaries with Tucker.

Mariah meets Kyle at Crimson Lights. She is happy to see him but wonders why he is ignoring her texts and calls. Mariah inquires how he could not tell her that he was leaving Marchetti. He apologizes, but it was not his idea to resign. Jack offered him a position at Jabot, but he didn't feel like being demoted while Summer rose to the top, so he declined. Kyle informs Mariah that he and Summer are officially separated and that she has moved out. Kyle admits to not sleeping because Harrison is confused now that Summer has left. Mariah feels bad for him. She tells him not to pretend to be brave. He highlights working with Audra Charles at Newman Media as his dream job. Mariah is taken aback that he's working with Noah's ex. Kyle believes that everyone understands what is best for him and requests that she leave Jabot in solidarity. There's a fight building, and he's afraid she'll be caught in the middle. Mariah can't leave because she must consider her family.
At Society, Summer celebrates that Chelsea accepted her job offer. In comes Abby, who says she heard about her and Kyle's troubles. Summer assumes Abby is going to lecture her, but Abby says she just wanted to offer her a hug. Abby hugs her and then asks if she and Kyle are talking. Summer says no. Abby understands. She wishes she had some advice. Summer wants to change the subject. Abby asks about Jabot. Summer informs her of what is going on, and they begin discussing Ashley. She wonders what Abby would do if it came down to a vote on the board. Abby is simply unsure. Summer believes she should choose a side.
Y&R Recap Today
Jack runs into Nikki at the Jazz Lounge. He asks if she is waiting for Victor. She says no; she is enjoying a quiet evening on her own. In fact, there is something about the music and the atmosphere there that she finds very soothing. She extends an invitation for Jack to join her, and he accepts. He would welcome a timeout. She knows how hard conflicts can be with the recent developments at Jabot. Jack wonders if Nikki is on a fact-finding mission. Nikki is dismayed that Jack accused her of having an ulterior motive. She is ready to walk away, but Jack stops her and apologizes. Jack shares how surprised he is by Ashley's latest stunt. Nikki hates to admit that he seems happy. She hasn’t seen that sparkle in his eye in a while. He’s in love. They start gossiping again about Ashley, and Nikki reminds her friend that Ashley might be trying to save his family by staying away. Jack calls it wishful thinking.
Diane arrives at the office and sees Billy looking very comfortable. He tells her that Jack is not there. She says she was looking for him, not Jack. She invites him for a drink because there is something important that she needs to talk to him about. He can't leave the office, but they can have a drink and talk right there. She thanks him for not taking Ashley's side in the latest family battle. She intends to prove herself. Billy says he is genuinely on her side and he is pulling for her; Tucker is the one he doesn't trust. Diane is worried about Jack's role in this battle. She knows Tucker, and she doesn't want to see Jack stoop to Tucker's nasty level. Diane admits that Jack did so much for her, and she wants to return the favor. Billy promises that if anyone makes a move to mess with Jabot, he will get down in the mud and fight for his father's legacy. Billy urges Diane to resign in the best interest of Jabot. Diane instantly thinks this was what Billy wanted all along, but he says no. Diane refuses to walk away.

Ashley arrives home and finds Tucker with champagne. He gives her a rose, and she wonders what the occasion is. He wants to celebrate their success with their exciting new business venture and the P.I. closing in on the EMT, so they should have Phyllis back in town soon and the leverage to weaponize her against Diane. Tucker wishes he could hear her say the L word. He promises her that she doesn't ever have to worry about the old Tucker resurfacing because it won't happen. Ashley thinks they are a great couple. Ashley and Tucker toast to pulling the rug from under Jabot, one employee at a time. Tucker wants to do something more positive, like get Simply Ashley up and running. Ashley notes that she wants to save Jabot. She is determined to make them hate and distrust Diane. If she can't save her brother, she is determined to save her father's legacy. Tucker begs her to say that she loves him. She doesn't; instead, she kisses him and decides to show him.
Kyle goes to the Jazz Lounge. He sits at the bar, looks at his wedding ring, takes it off, and puts it in his pocket. Abby texts her mother to ask her if the new company with Tucker is really happening. Back at Jabot, Jack overhears Billy and Diane talking. He informs them that they must prepare for war. Billy isn't against Jack, but when it comes to him and Jabot, he'll do what's necessary.
