The Young and the Restless Recap for Wednesday, July 19, 2023:

Today on The Young and the Restless, Victor protects his legacy, Phyllis strikes a deal, and Nick comes to an agreement with Adam.

Y&R Recap Today

Adam meets with Sharon at Crimson Lights. He wants to know if she thought about his offer and makes it clear that whatever she decides he is walking away from Adustus. He thinks that if they work together with Kirsten's company they can turn his father's plan into dust. He gets offended by Sharon's response. Sharon notes that she sees the logic in Victor's point of view. Sharon doesn't understand why Adam wants to walk away from the company. She was looking for a merger so she is not looking to go to war with Victor Newman. He's ready to leave but she persuades him to stay. She informs him that he's reacting the same way he always does to Victor. He says he doesn't want his father to dictate his life. She encourages him to imagine what they could do with the two companies merged. Chance enters. Adam tells Sharon that she has given him a lot to think about so they will be in touch as he takes off. Chance invites her out. She is unable to leave. He is desperate to kiss her again. She tells him about her conversation with Adam and how she refused to consider anything other than a merger. He doubts Adam's ability to act sensibly rather than emotionally. 

After making it clear how he wants things to run from now on, Victor asks Nick and Victoria if they have any questions. Victoria is completely on board but Nick hasn't decided yet. Victor makes it clear that he will be the one calling the shots from now on. They argue over Adam. Nick is irritated because they have given Nate his position. He's got reservations. Victor agrees but believes he can be an asset. His father tells him to move on. Even if he has to push it, Newman's family harmony will be attained. Nick adds that he's tried before to get the three of them to work together, but it's always failed. Victor believes he can pull this off. Victor asks his daughter to stay when Nick departs. Victoria believes that everything is going as she had hoped. He has taught her everything. He expresses how proud he is of her.

In the park, Nick runs into Adam. He encourages Adam not to cry about what their father has done. Adam believes he should be enraged about the loss of his job. Nick sees this as a golden chance. It's not a poor idea just because their father recommended it. If Adam goes it alone, he will be on the outside looking in. Nick believes they can work together to turn around two businesses. That's far easier than attempting to outwit Victor. Adam reluctantly accepts to work with his brother and Sharon as they shake on it. 

Audra asks Kyle if he's excited about his first day at work. She advises not to be intimidated by the stock of files she put on his desk. Summer walks in and asks if it's a good time to talk. He says it's not. Audra tells him to go ahead and talk she will head to the office but he shouldn't be late. Summer attempts to get him to talk. He can't get over her betrayal. She says that she never intended to hurt him. She still believes in them, no matter how naive she is. She has to know if he tells her there's no hope and he's passed the point of no return. She demands to know if he slept with Audra. He admits it outright. She believes there is no hope for them and he concurs. She smacks him across the face and leaves.

Y&R Recap Today

Tucker runs into Audra in the park, and they both brag about how well things are going for them. She is touched that he is concerned about her life. He's convinced that everything with Ashley will go according to plan. 

Phyllis meets with Daniel at Society. Everyone is staring. She is out on bail. She is ready to fix what she broke. She is aware that she has been an agent of turmoil, but it has never been on purpose. Everything was done for the greater good. However, she is now able to make atonement to those she has hurt. She even wants to apologize to Diane. Daniel wonders if this is real or simply for show. Summer arrives, and her mother immediately suspects something has happened with Kyle. She doesn't want to talk about it. Phyllis is skeptical about what Christine will do. 

Daniel persuades her to focus on the next steps. They all look at Tucker as he walks in. Daniel is curious about what is going on between his mother and him. She pretends to be perplexed. Phyllis begs Summer to allow her to assist her. Summer says that she is late for work and accuses her of wrecking their lives. She apologizes, says she's glad she's back, and walks away. Daniel feels his mom leaves for work. Phyllis approaches Tucker right away. He notices she is unwilling to display outward gratitude and inquires about her plans. He requires confidence that she will follow through on their agreement. He tells her not to contemplate quitting. He has the power to make Carson vanish and imprison her for years. He asks her what is her strategy for getting under Diane's skin.
