The Young and the Restless Recap for Monday, July 24, 2023:
Y&R Recap Today
Jack returns. He informs Billy and Diane that his trip to New York was eye-opening, but not in a positive manner. Ashley and Tucker intended to remove her patterns and assets from Jabot. Is she even capable of doing so? According to Legal, there are gaps in their agreement that allow her to seize everything if she can demonstrate cause and she intends to use Diane's past to establish her case. Billy is not surprised. He informs Jack of his plan to make Diane resign. Jack refuses to give in to Ashley, and he will not take Diane's position because of their sister's unreasonable grudge. He is prepared for war, and they will win. Billy departs. Diane values Jack's presence in her life. He wants them to go home to make up for lost time.
Tucker and Ashley visit Devon and Abby at the Chancellor Estate. They know they were only supposed to stay a few minutes but they brought gifts, but they brought gifts to help them celebrate moving into their new home. Ashley appears to be content, however, she hasn't reconciled with Jack; Diane has poisoned his mind to a point where she no longer recognizes her brother. She is satisfied at this stage since everything is falling into place for her and her future.
Y&R Recap Today
Ashley and Abby are talking one-on-one. Ashely wants to give love another shot, and they have a big announcement to make. Tucker proposes a toast. He wishes Abby and Devon happiness for the rest of their lives. He promises to spend the rest of his days atoning for his errors. He raises a glass to new beginnings, life, love, joy, and laughter. Abby talks about her past life at the estate with Chance. She can't wait to get out of bed every morning with Devon by her side. She interrogates Ashley about her great news. Devon questions Tucker about the reports about him and Ashley taking over Jabot. Tucker isn't interested in discussing business. He announces that they will be getting married in a few weeks. It will be a small affair; immediately family and few close friends. He is not sure about the venue yet. abby struggles for a minute but gives them her blessing under one condition- they stop looking for a wedding venue and let Devon and Abby throw their wedding there at the house. Ashley and Tucker are at a loss for words. Tucker is touched that they will offer to host the wedding in his mom's house. He and Ashley accept.
Devon asks Abby if her offer was genuine. To be honest, she had a really hard time picturing Tucker being a part of her mom's life but looking at her tonight, she looks so happy. Devon hopes things work out for them. He is surprised they've never talked about marriage before and he thinks it's time they talk about it.
Diane and Jack return to the Abbott mansion. They talk about Phyllis who made bail. Jack learns about the EMT who backed up Phyllis' story. He finds it sounds a bit sketchy. He is stunned that she may actually beat the charges. Diane notes that she saw Phyllis. It was strange and uncomfortable. Phyllis was at Society with Tucker. They tried hard to be civil. Phyllis seemed remorseful but it could all be an act.
Y&R Recap Today
Ashley returns home. She and Jack get into it. Diane decides it's time, she's quitting her job at Jabot. Jack doesn't agree with it. She assumes that means the situation is resolved and asks if Ashley will back off. Jack says it’s fine. Ashley can take her part of the company. Ashley is disgusted he’d do this but Jack says he’d do more for the woman he loves. Tucker appears and asks what’s up. She says that Jack is caving. Diane disagrees. She won’t let him do this. She says she is out of the company.
Phyllis meets with Heather. She wants to know if she was able to convince Christine to drop the charges. No, even though they have an eyewitness but Christine thinks that Phyllis told Carson convinced Carson to say what she needed him to say. Christine wants to take this to trial. Phyllis is optimistic that things will work out in her favor. She doesn't want to take any chance with Carson who may mess things up for her. She wants him to be placed in protective custody where no one can get him to recant his testimony.
Heather senses that there is more going on than Christine not liking Phyllis. She demands complete honesty from her. She hates surprises and wants to defend her client properly. She tells Phyllis to come clean now or find another attorney. Phyllis says Tucker McCall has her under her thumb and she can't get out. He was the one who found Carson. her only witness and convinced him to testify on her behalf. He is pulling the strings. Heather asks if everything was a lie - did Carson really witness what happened with Stark. Phyllis confirms that he did. She says Tucker wants her to get Diane out of Jabot. Tucker is so shady and cannot be trusted. He has her entire life in his hands.
Phyllis promises that if she gets the chance, big changes will be coming. Billy walks in and says, "Well, wouldn't that be something?" After hearing an update about her case, Billy wishes her luck and walks away. Heather says they need to act fast and leave as well. Tucker spies Heather walking out and runs out too.
Billy returns and joins Phyllis. She wishes people would cut her slack like they do with other people. He wants to talk with her about Summer. He says Summer handled herself pretty well, with the confusion and the sadness of believing her mom had died. She should be proud of her daughter and not break her spirit. Phyllis says the situation changed her. She realizes she has a lot to lose if she doesn't turn things around. She is ready to be the person her family loves and respects. Heather returns requesting to talk privately. As Billy leaves, Heather informs Phyllis that it seems Carson has disappeared.
