The Young and the Restless recap for July 5, 2023:



Y&R Recap Today


Today on The Young and the Restless, Victor tests Audra, Nick gives Adam an ultimatum, and Chelsea receives an unexpected offer.




Audra arrives for her breakfast meeting with Victor. She regards this one-on-one with him as a privilege. She's curious about what this is all about. He informs her that he summoned her because he is aware that she and a member of his family have become acquainted and that he has to issue a severe warning to her. It is Adam. He informs her that he intends to take over Newman Media. He asks whether she's prepared for the fight. Audra guarantees that the company will be secure under her supervision. 




Nick texts Sally to say he is on his way. She can't wait. Adam pushes an envelope under her door and walks away. Sally sighs as she accepts the envelope. There's a knock at the door, which she assumes is Adam but is actually Nick. Nick feels sorry for Adam. Sally realizes now why Nick had to be there for Faith. Sally tosses Adam's mail in the trash. Sally discovers that Nate has taken Nick's place on the job. He gets a hunch that if Nate has his way, he won't have a job to return to. Nick says he'll spend his vacation time taking care of the people he cares about. Nick believes Sally should contact Chloe - it could be some of what she needs right now. 




Billy and Chelsea meet. They are happy to get this time alone. Daniel walks in and interrupts. He is glad to see her and tells her the good news about Omega Sphere. Summer runs in and tells Chelsea she wanted to see her. She invites her to come to work with her at Marchetti. Daniel can't believe she is stealing talent from her own brother. She really needs her at Marchetti. She notes that they will be running the company together. Billy is stunned to learn that Kyle is leaving. Billy offers to take Chelsea home since he has to go to the office. At Crimson Lights, Billy contacts Jack via phone and gets an update at the changes at the company. Billy encourages Chelsea to accept the job offer from Summer. Chelsea is hesitant. He suggests she takes some time to think about it. Chloe walks in and Billy leaves. Chelsea asks her for her opinion. Chloe thinks she hasn't been a good friend. She says she should have done more for her when she needed her most. Chelsea doesn't agree. 



Chloe visits Sally. Sally notes it has not been easy losing a child. She is not sure she's ready to go back to work. While Nick thinks it would be a good distraction for her, she's not ready. Chloe gives her an update on what's been happening at work. Chloe has to leave to meet Kevin. She wants them together with Lily and Devon to set up a meeting. Sally says she would like to join. She is ready to get out. When Chloe leaves, Sally takes Adam's letter out of the garbage and reads it. 



Nick meets with Victor at Society. He notes that he had nothing to do with his forced sabbatical - in fact, he and Nikki were totally against it. Victor asks Nick to help Adam. Victor will never give up hope - he thinks Adam is capable of changing. He says right now Adam needs someone to support him - he is very concerned about him. Victor wants him to join forces with Adam at McCall. Nick is reluctant. 



Summer and Daniel step away to talk. Summer is clinging to hope that she and Kyle can repair things despite Daniel's advice to prepare for the worse. 



Audra gets some flowers from Kyle. Summer walks by and looks on. She approaches and wonders who gave her flowers and jewelry. Audra says it's just someone congratulating her on her new job. Summer heads upstairs. Audra asks if she's staying there. Summer says it's temporary just like her new position. Adam walks in. Audra says she was warned about him. Adam asks who warned her. She refuses to tell but she's ready to take him down in a corporate battle. He tells her she made a big mistake underestimating him and she should get ready for the biggest battle of her life. 



Daniel visits Summer in her suite. He says he texted their mom and told her about Summer's separation.
