Y&R Recap July 7, 2023: Ashley and Tucker's Big News Upsets Jack

The Young and the Restless recap for July 7, 2023:

Today on The Young and the Restless, Jack discovers Ashley’s deception, Nick turns to Sharon for advice, and Adam makes an impression on Sally.

Y&R Recap Today

Sally thanks Nick for delivering her spicy sauce and expresses how inspiring her visit with Chloe was. They discussed ergonomics. He informs her that his father has offered him a position working with Adam. She is not pleased that his father is drawing him into Adam's turmoil. He wonders where this is coming from as she complains about how people are constantly trying to repair Adam, but he can't be fixed. He is concerned about Adam. She doesn't want to talk about him; instead, she wants to rest. Nick suggests they watch a show, but she thinks he should go before she says something that would hurt him or  hurt them both. Despite appreciating what he is doing for her, she wants some space. He hopes she feels better and leaves. As she sits in bed, she thinks about Adam's letter. 

Adam walks inside Crimson Lights and sees Sharon. He makes an order. He notes how busy he is. When Nick arrives, he makes an order. He apologizes for upsetting Sally and informs her about Victor's suggestion that he assist Adam at McCall. Victor is concerned that he is ready to start a fight with his family in order to deal with his sadness. Nick agreed to consider it. He should not have informed Sally since it enraged her. She believes Adam is unworthy of assistance. Sharon believes Sally is attempting to regain equilibrium following her ordeal. They discuss Adam's desires and how he continues to disregard Victor's advice. She inquires as to what he intends to accomplish. 

Adam sits and reflects on his previous argument with Nick. He also recalls the letter he wrote to Sally and how she humiliated him.

Y&R Recap Today

Kyle notices Audra. He recalls the flowers and earrings he sent her. He walks over and says that her earrings suit her. They are gorgeous and outrageously costly, in her opinion. Audra adds that she got them, as well as the flowers, in front of his wife. She wonders whether he was attempting to make his wife jealous, but he claims she had nothing to do with it. She suggests that he come up to view the flowers because they truly brightened up her apartment. She understands that he doesn't care about who sees him, but she acknowledges that she wants to keep things private. He promises not to be too suspicious and promises to follow her up soon. She goes upstairs. Kyle walks up to her suite and meets her in a robe. She chooses to remove her robe to better show off her jewelry.

 

She acknowledges that she thought she had to give up a lot of herself in order to be successful. They can be carefree here. Audra tells him how great her job is and how much she looks forward to going to work in the morning. He recalls his previous employment there and informs her that the Newmans are not to be trusted. She reminds him that she is now the CEO of Newman Media and that she needs a right-hand man. He fetches them water, and she pitches the job, saying Adam is now after them and the firm is in danger. They need to swing first, and she believes he'd be the ideal guy to assist. Kyle likes the notion of crushing Adam. The offer piques his interest, but he hasn't accepted it yet.

Ashley and Tucker raise a glass to their new venture and issue a press release. She's ecstatic about how this will blow Jack's head off and wishes she could see his face when he learns the news. Tucker understands that she's been in a righteous rage for months. They discuss Jack's next stage. Perhaps he'll start bargaining and offering her things. 

Y&R Recap Today

Jack is enraged when he receives a press release at the Abbott estate. Diane sees the news announcement announcing Ashley and Tucker's new business and can't believe it's true. He contacts a journalist buddy for confirmation. He can't believe his sister and Tucker have been working on a business together. Diane blames herself, but he tells her that she is not at fault. His sister's actions perplex him. They worked hard to get back on track following their recent squabble. He blames Tucker for everything. They go to Society to apprehend the pair. Tucker smiles and raises his drink to them. Jack comes over and begins arguing with his sister. He and Tucker take a step outdoors. Tucker informs him that Jabot is merely a company. He advises him to wish his sister well. Jack accuses him of attempting to make his sister's life as insignificant as his own. When Tucker brings up Dina's actions, he becomes enraged. Ashley is too strong to be swayed. The sooner he acknowledges what she is truly doing, the sooner he will be on his way to acceptance.

Diane asks Ashley what it will take to put an end to this. Ashley thinks Diane will drive Jabot into the ground. When she accomplishes this, Ashley and Tucker will be able to intervene and save it. That will remind Jack of what it takes to run a family business. It will also make it obvious that Diane is not and will never be an Abbott. When Diane walks out, Jack warns her that she should never have to deal with his sister treating her this way again. Back inside, Tucker predicts that Jack will enter the depression stage, and they make toast.
