Days of Our Lives Episode Recap, Cast List, and Spoilers for August 7, 2023: The One With All Of The Marriage Proposals
Spoilers for Days of Our Lives on August 7, 2023: Maggie discovers Sarah’s secret. Xander surprises Chloe. Gwen discovers Leo hiding his lover. Nicole is caught between conflicting proposals.
Days of Our Lives Episode Recap August 7, 2023: The One With All Of The Marriage Proposals
Sarah is surprised to find that the building super let Maggie into her apartment when she was getting groceries. Maggie tells her that she knows what she is hiding from her and Sarah is about to put down her grocery bag when Maggie continues and says that she knows that Sarah is back together with Rex and has been keeping it from her.
Sarah tries to go along with it without flat out lying to her mother but when Maggie asks her to put down the grocery bag so that they can sit and talk, Sarah is forced to reveal that she's pregnant. At first, Maggie assumes that the baby is Rex's but then realizes that it could also be Xander's and the look on Sarah's face tells her that Xander is the father and that Sarah knows it.
Sarah tries to explain to her mother why she wants to keep it a secret from Xander but Maggie thinks that it is a bad idea. Sarah is insistent that he can't know and Maggie finally agrees to stay quiet, admitting to Sarah that Xander told her that he has moved on with Chloe.
Gwen knocks on Leo's door and wants to come in. He and Dimitri panic since they are naked in bed together. Gwen keeps knocking and finally, Leo opens the door in just a towel and tries to tell her that he is busy but she goes right by him, into the room. She is shocked to see how messy it is and he tells her that was why he didn't want to let her in. Gwen tells him that she wanted to say goodbye before she left for her honeymoon and they talked about how much they would miss each other.
Gwen hears a noise from the bathroom and realizes that Leo is not alone. She assumes that it is the mysterious MP that he was sexting with on her wedding day and wants him to come out so she can meet him but he won't. Leo lies and tells her that MP is married and doesn't want his wife to find out and tells Gwen he feels horrible. She comforts him and assures him that he deserves happiness and tells him that she hopes he finds it like she has with Dimitri.
Gwen and Leo hug goodbye and she leaves and then Dimitri comes out of the bathroom. Leo tells him that he will miss him while he's on his honeymoon and Dimitri surprises him with a plane ticket and hotel reservation in the same hotel in Iceland that he is staying at with Gwen, but in a different wing. Leo insists that he can't do that but Dimtri thinks he will and kisses him goodbye. After going back and forth with himself, Leo starts to pack for his trip.
Chloe can't believe that Xander is proposing and thinks that it has something to do with Gwen getting married. He assures her that it does not and tells her that he saw Gwen and wished her well and honestly hopes that she is happy. He goes on to tell her that he even told Maggie that he had moved on when she told him about Sarah and Rex reuniting. Chloe turns down his proposal, convinced that it is too soon and he is being reactionary.
Xander does his best to convince Chloe that he honestly loves her and is proposing purely because he wants a life and a future with her. He tells her about his dreams of them owning a house and having kids. She is surprised by this but not against it. She tells him that she needs to think about it and they kiss.
Eric asks what secret Sloan and Miranda are keeping and Miranda covers for Sloan and tells him that Sloan talked to the judge in Colin's case without her present which is a no-no but that she wasn't going to say anything about it. Eric thanks her for her discretion and Sloan walks Miranda out. In the hall, Miranda promises to keep her secret before leaving.
When Sloan goes back into her apartment she finds Eric on bended knee with a ring in his hand. He tells her that he wanted to give her the proper proposal she deserved and asks her to marry him. Sloan joyously says yes and pushes him onto the bed, kissing him. After they make love he puts the ring on her finger and they kiss again. Melinda runs into Gwen in the Square and snarks about looking forward to trying Gwen and her new husband together for the crimes they will inevitably commit. Gwen is too excited about her honeymoon to let Melinda get to her and goes home to pack.
Nicole tells EJ about Eric's plan to propose to Sloan and her worry for him. EJ takes the opportunity to propose to Nicole again but she thinks he is just doing it because of Eric proposing to Sloan. He surprises her by taking a ring box out of a drawer and telling her that he has been waiting for the right moment to ask her properly and feels like this is it. He gets down on one knee and professes, sliding the ring on her finger and asking if she will marry him. Nicole tearfully accepts and they kiss happily. Upstairs Gwen kisses Dimitri and tells him to get ready for a lot of honeymoon sex in Iceland!
